The house was fully designed by myself & built by a local Tiny Home builder on the theme of having an open floor plan that is fully functional for a family of (4). The home features all natural building materials that are non-toxic. I am not kidding when I mean all natural. Everything from the OSB in the SIP’s to the paint on the walls and the finish on the wood. The design has clean and simple lines with natural soothing colors and lots of REAL wood!

– 24′ x 10′ Tiny house = 440 total SF (including 2 lofts)
– 100% chemical free | non-toxic building materials both inside and outside.
– Walls and roof are built out of SIP (Structurally Insulated Panels) (NO Urea-formaldehyde in the OSB)
– Open cell spray insulation in floor.
– (1) full bathroom. Standard flushing toilet, large pedestal sink, 3/4 size bathtub w/ shower, lots of storage!
– LUNOS e² Ductless, Simple, and highly efficient heat recovery ventilation (HRV) system (VERY IMPORTANT FOR FRESH AIR!!!!)
– PrecisionTemp – Tankless Hot Water heater – NEVER run out of how water – LP gas (propane)
– Mitsubishi Mini Split – 12k BTU Cooling + Heating – M-Series H2i Wall Mounted Air Conditioning System – 26.1 SEER
– 2 burner FAGOR stainless steel cooktop – LP gas (propane)
***both the water heater and cooktop are hooked up to LP gas. This is very efficient and keeps electric bill very low since we are not heating water or food with electric.***
– Craftmade, Sonnet, Energy Saving, 2nd Generation, 6-Speed Reversible DC Motor (ULTRA ENERGY SAVING w/ DC motor)
– Full size LG refrigerator/freezer.
– Hooked up to very good internet at a good price. NO satellite internet needed.

    Hello Alex of TinyHouseTalk.com, (if this is the place to write you.)

    So the Tiny House, and in the community described above, is very lovely, like so many, further scratching my itch to want to join the Tiny House Movement as a tiny home owner. But the same issue keeps coming up and stops me from moving forward. “LEGALITY”. I have eliminated the possibilities of living on someone else’s property, like you see so many do, on farmlands etc. I want either my own land or to be within a community where they are accepted and legal. Each time I go land hunting there are so many rules and regulations for THOWs and I do need mine to stay on wheels for mobility purposes. However, the land available either has heavy restrictions, is zoned only for recreational use, does not have water, sweage etc. or they want it to be a permanent dwelling. So IF there is anyone out there, or a guide written or a lecturer who knows, that could provide insight within each state as to how to find the kind of land that would not present these obstacles, then people provide this resource. I know I can’t be the only only who has this issue.
    Lastly, a Tiny Home Community sprung up in our area, but the rules and regs for it are almost like being in an exclusive gated community, just a shrunken down version of one … the freedom from a mortgage and to buy and sell as you please, does not exist in this particular community. So it is not an option.

    Looked and looked and couldn’t see a washer/dryer. Notes it has a 2 burner FAGOR stainless steel cooktop. No oven? And its $89k???

      I was thinking the same thing, Beth. This would not be for me anyway, because I want one with everything on one level, but the lack of an oven and washer/dryer at that price stunned me, too.

        We have a laundery alternative automatic washer stowed away. If you read all that’s included in the house it’s priced right! You will not find a SIP home for cheap.

        Well, there’s lots of reasons for the cost… For example, note the, “100% chemical free | non-toxic building materials both inside and outside.”… That’s not easy to do and means much of the material was acquired at high cost and they took care to not use anything to add any chemicals during the building process…

        SIP construction is also not cheap, never mind one that doesn’t off-gas, and costs more than traditional wood framing, but means the structure has a virtually 100% insulated frame that’s also a bit stronger than a equivalent sized stick framing…

        Then there’s things like the custom double paned insulated windows that typically run into the thousand range each. So easily over $8000 just for the windows… But combined with the SIPs means this house is pretty heavily insulated…

        Add, features like LUNOS e² Heat Recovery Ventilation are premium features… This particular one means you can ventilate in the middle of winter but retain most of the house’s heat as it transfers the heat to the incoming air… While continuously bringing in fresh air… Along with the full house water filter system to make sure the water is good and drinkable wherever you may take it…

        Even the ceiling fan is a high priced 6 speed model… and the house is also upgrade-able as it is already wired to have a complete solar power system installed if you want to make it off-grid capable…

        The seller is also including everything outside, so that includes the deck, the skirting, the big cooler, etc.

        So it may be missing some things you would prefer but there’s lots of reasons why something can still cost a lot but still not have everything you’re looking for…

        Though, there is a space set aside for a combo washer/dryer and you should also be able to add a oven…

          Very very well said. A case of getting exactly what you pay for and in this case at a serious bargain. I’m always amused by the commenters who love love love the tiny house BUT would change this this and that LOL

    Love the THOW and Woodland Park is a great area but would rather have such a house without .neighbors that close. Would probably move it to my own to be purchased property near Santa Fe. The Google Map pin drop can’t be accurate when you look at the satellite view. Any chance of getting an accurate location?

    I love to look at all the positives and save ideas up in my mind that I can use for my own dream. This house is really beautiful, and being so close to Colorado Springs is a big plus, too. Could be perfect for someone who has a little more than I do to spend and wants to live in, what will be, a gated community. The only question I’d ask is, why don’t they mention how much the lot rental is for the community? Or did I miss that somewhere in the article?

      They’re not selling the lot space, just the THOW and the stuff they built around it… It’s up to whoever buys it as to whether they want to opt for keeping it there or taking it somewhere else…

      So you’d have to contact whoever is in charge of the Peak View Park… They have a number listed for 719-491-4025 or 719-502-7431… They’re in the Woodland Park and Teller County area… It’s apparently an RV and Park Model community, but they have a number of Tiny Houses including from known builders like Tumbleweed Tiny Houses.

    I love the idea of a functioning Park/Tiny house community with gathering space and a view. The tiny house shown, being 10 feet wide is great for living in full time. I am an older empty nest sort who does enjoy the idea of a loft …as an option. Would very much like to see a model that truly reflects the needs of not very old yet seniors who want/need a place to live/work/play in relative ease, comfort and safety ,yet lots of privacy! Would like to see a THOW with some downstairs sleeping options like a Murphy bed that can be put away by day having area open for an exercise/ workout space. Also a large bathroom and closets for clothes. Even downsizing one needs a certain amount of clothes. THOWs seldom have a designated dressing area however small. Also a mini mudroom upon entry.

    This house is worth every penny of the asking price. It is a gorgeous home and one I would be delighted to live in.
    I have THOW which I finished after buying the shell and I would say I am into it $30k. But I bought quality materials and didn’t scrimp on lighting I wanted, flooring I wanted etc..
    An example is I wanted a mini chandelier in the bathroom so that is what I did. I could have saved with a ceiling mount plain and simple but that’s not what I wanted.
    The point is, I could have kept the overall cost to probably $25k, but what is $5k in a home for my retirement years?
    I love living tiny and look forward to the day I can move it from my backyard to a piece of property away from neighbors. 🤗

    Ah…like so many THOWs in Colorado the use of Beetlewood pine is so beautiful. I am delighted that this is a Legal community. I am in California where there is one up in Sonoma and another In Lemon Cove but so very far from everything. This THOW is lovely. I do not understand the lack of eating area and closet clothes storage. Love the 10 foot wide. Much more sensible and realistic to have home a bit wider. It seems like some sort of “sin” to admit that perhaps tiny is too tiny? There are basic home needs even if you do spend lots of time outdoors. A place to sit and eat. A desk and “command center” a small mudroom. Especially in Colorado where harsh winters are the norm. Is it really so terrible to admit that these things are necessary? That owning more than 3 outfits and a pair of shoes is somehow greedy? That sweaters and jackets, boots, scarves and mittens are selfish? I do not think so. Perhaps slightly bigger tiny homes will come into vogue. A bit more realistic.

      Ellen, there’s nothing wrong with pointing out not everyone’s needs will be the same or be as easy to downsize for tiny house living…

      Though, it can be surprising what needs can be met… Especially, if you look a little more carefully…

      Like note the two photos of the kitchen… The one showing the couch shows the table with a monitor and laptop on it but the other photo showing the kitchen doesn’t show that table, meaning it’s a fold down against the wall table that leaves a shelf for the monitor and frame when not using the table…

      So there’s a multi-use desk there that can be used for eating or working… Or you can just bring two bar stools to the counter and use it as a bar desk for eating as well…

      While there isn’t a photo of the master loft, the description lists it to have storage dresser for clothes, there’s multiple discrete storage compartments throughout the house, the crawlspace beneath the house can be accessed for storage, and all those storage sheds on the outside come with the house too…

      If you need more storage for cloths, that privacy wall for the master loft probably means you can mount a hanging rod between it and the back wall and turn the whole side of the loft into hanging space and you can curtain it off for aesthetics…

      The other loft back left corner also looks recessed, so may be deep enough to add a little hanging rod their too… Or you can just add half height closet furniture…
