Though my future plans for a small or tiny home do not include a loft area (No climbing stairs or ladders for me) this THOW just may make me change my mind! This THOW is remarkably done and has room to spare!! I absolutely love this space, loft and all! I would definitely live in this THOW until either my senior years (still a lil bit away) approached or an immediate health/handicap would prevent me from climbing the stairs. Kudos on this design…inside and out. LOVE IT!!

Absolutely agree with you, BrownLuster. I have been looking for no loft plans. This may make me change my mind. I would modify the kitchen just a little to accommodate full-time living and maybe downgrade the bathroom a little to make price a little more manageable. In the living room I would swap places of tv and window so tv is lower for watching. When I need easier access to loft (in a few years) I could add an electrical chair assist. I really like this one.

Wow Sharee…Good Ideas!! Particularly the idea for a wheelchair lift!!

This post blew up soon after Alex posted it because this is yet another fabulously done Tiny Home. I love this blog because of posters like you and everyone that posted about this beautifully done THOW and chimed in with their ideas, small tweaks and recommendations. So many great ideas from posters on this blog and Fb…it really inspires and motivates me to continue to forge ahead with my downsizing efforts + small/tiny home plans. Wow! I love the stairs to both of your lofts. It would make it so much easier to climb up when you have your hands full, than using a ladder. Great shower it’s ultra modern and I like the storage that you included in your bathroom. I love how you designed your backyard. The pavers are nice and I love your peruglo and your fire pit is awesome!! Your plants look nice to. You did a nice job all around inside and outside.

Thanks for sharing! I love all of your ideas! Carol Perry

Love love this house ! What a great set up and I love the stairs on both sides ! Dig the kitchen, thought hat was a Keurig, nice it has a dishwasher, but think I’d trade the dishwasher for an over/stove !

If you go to their site on airbnb, the tiny house guest have access to a gorgeous backyard with a beautiful bar/kitchen with an oven and grill.

Yeah I get that, but if it were my house I wouldn’t be living there, so I’d still want a oven/stove 😉

Just a thought, I use an induction burner (single) and a counter top oven which is large enough to put a small turkey in and find they do a great job and both are 110. The induction burner sits on top of my defunct stove and the oven has its own small rack. I am not sure I will but a traditional oven in my new build, but will have a full size refrigerator with french doors (have already purchased it)

I also use a countertop convection oven and an induction burner plus a microwave in my regular sized kitchen. I put my gas range on the back veranda to keep the house cooler since we live in a sub-tropical climate. These smaller portable devices would be perfect in the Tiny Houses, instead of the the usual kitchen ranges. The ranges made for boats are small sized but very expensive.

Whoa, VERY NICE!! Would like more of a kitchen but everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING) else is very nice. Great site, interior and exterior.

I am curious as to how much we could rent this per night for maybe a 2 night weekend trip to see how we like the tiny house space?
    Thanks

This is a truly interesting design. I think this is the second unit I have seen where they have built the loft areas beyond the bottom area. I like that concept, I realize it would be an air drag, however, let’s be real — no-one is really going to be moving these on a regular basis. I was going to have my 36 foot trailer extended to 40 feet, but wanted to really go longer — this would be a workable alternative. I also like how he took the stairs up over the bathroom and kitchen area and the extra storage and counter space in the bathroom. I do not think that bathroom would be all that expensive to put together. Since my kitchen will be in the middle (Where my super slide is), the area next to the bathroom would be a closet and office area. Certainly design ideas to think about.

I also like the color scheme — I love red and want my kitchen to be white/black/red.

And, it goes without saying, the out door living/kitchen area is great.

Oh my God. Those stairs! Love, Love them. They’re perfect for someone like me. The bathroom is beautiful, nice size. I would have liked to see more of the kitchen. Couldn’t see a cook top or oven. And would like to know what size fridge would fit. All in all one of the nicest tiny homes I’ve seen.

I’m with you Emily. I haven’t seen stairs put in like that in any tiny house before and I really like them. The under stair space is cleverly used, also.

    Alex & Rosa,

My compliements to you both, I love the way you designed your TH it is adorable!! I love the fact that you have two sets of stairs going up to your loft areas. That comes in handy when you have to carry things up there. I don’t know how people balance and carry items whiling climbing up a ladder. I can’t believe how much room is up in your loft area. Your shower is ultra modern, I like the fact you have nice storage area in there to store stuff on. I love your patio, the pavers and peruglo are really nice!! You have an awesome fire pit!!

Thank you for sharing your awesome TH you did a great job!!

This is sweet! I would put a washer/dryer in the bathroom where the shelves are and then maybe a hanging rod over that and BOOM! Done.
So, Alex, when can we start on mine?

  • October 6, 2015, 5:45 am

I agree with everyone on this particular model. I was concerned about having a loft because I like the “open-concept” but this one is amazing! We all need the specs on this! (This makes the need to go smaller and simpler a pleasure )

Beside the lofts I like this design. I would prefer a murphy or even better a lift under the ceiling bed which shouldn’t be a problem with the interior height.

Love the staircases and that the bathroom doesn’t open in to the kitchen. With a little rejigging the kitchen could be made to work. I would prefer an IKEA Norden table, which would fold down well, but provide a table for 6 if needed. This Tiny House is in Florida, so I suppose people can eat outside for most of the year.
    Just lovely!

This must be the Tardis version of Tiny Houses. It’s bigger on the inside… So impressed that they managed to get so much functionality out of this TH and with TWO lofts and TWO staircases. This is excellent.

Great design…ME TOO…I. W A N T O N E! Just wandering…think one of those beautiful stair cases could handle an Acorn Chair Lift to take us old Codgers up to our loft bed? BTW, it would provide a bed room seat in the loft and an extra chair for the LR when at the bottom of the stairs.
Also could the floor between the bed and the wall [only] be lowered for more head room, since this space is over kitchen counters which do not need higher ceiling. Also … Use the hallow box frame holding the queen size matress could offer an attractive tray ceiling in the kitchen (^v^). Also like GMH’s suggestion of w/d combo in place of shelves besides the toilet.

Very nicely done. None of that gypsy-caravan look. Florida needs tall ceilings–and yet you have to drive under bridges…If I owned the land (or not), I would erect a cheap open-sided pavillion I could park under with some additional square footage. Eliminate the sun heat gain, have open ventilation during those heavy squalls (daily in the summer). Cheap if the land wasn’t mine and I would just demolish and remove it when I left. Of course–that’s all different if the land is mine and I wasn’t going anywhere soon. Tiny home on wheels would be designed entirely different for northern climates.

I really like this build and would like some more information about it. What are the dimensions including the height? Is this actually built on a trailer and what size? I didn’t see any utility closet or electrical panal that to make this a full time dwelling one would have to have these. Where I live l would also need a source of heat in the winter and air conditioning (which you had )for the summer. So it would need to add a few tweeks to meet my needs, and maybe enlargening it to meet these needs. So if you could let me know a little more information, I would appreciate it. Thank you. Jean. Alex!!!!!!!!! In the past I have not gotten responses to my questions, hopefully this time I will.

    Alex,
You have finally hit the nail on the head with this one. This is perfect, both lofts have real stairs with handles not ladders. Would love to get two of these to put on the land that we are buying. The kitchens will be real functioning kitchens.

I like it except for the French Doors. Without screens, the local biting insects would have a carnival after dark. I would hope that there are screens on all the windows. Other than that, I think the design is great. I really like the bathroom and the stairs with a railing. Ladders to the loft just won’t do.

I have looked all over for the site of the builder and found nothing. I like the idea of sitting on the sofa and looking out the doors, most have them in the kitchen area and nothing for the living room. You could put screens on them for the bugs, but love the rest. Would have a storage sofa though.
