Marcia’s Round Jungle Cabin in Belize

This post contains affiliate links.

This is Marcia’s Round Jungle Cabin in Belize! (Ok, fine, it’s technically a hexagon).

According to her neighbor, William (who also lives in a jungle cabin!), she has four solar panels that provide enough power to run her lights, her refrigerator, and a few fans. It looks like a lovely “get away from it all” location!

Enjoy the pictures!

Love the three cool layers!

Marcia, enjoying her jungle cabin.

Her kitchen with refrigerator and oven.

Work and eat in the jungle right here!

Here’s the indoor lounging area (outside is better, though!)

The almost-outdoor shower! Gotta love warm climates.

A cozy place to spend the night.

Another view of the kitchen and steps upstairs.

Her cupola roof!

View from the porch swing.

William says you can watch the monkeys from this spot!

Hammock and extra storage. Perfect!

Round shape houses are best when it comes to floor/roof area in relation to usable floor space and they are withstanding hurricanes much better than any other house.
Huge roof overhangs and a covered porch are a must in a tropical climate. They providing shade, create great outdoor living and beside that they are protecting wood from the elements, its constructive wood protection.
Insects are another enemy in the tropics and wood needs to be chosen and treated carefully otherwise lifespan will be very short.
There is nothing more healthy than to live in a wooden home.
Great design on a small footprint with everything needed. It would be interesting to learn more.

You are right Michael, the round structure is better suited for Hurricanes. This one survived Hurricane Earl last year with 70 mph winds this far inland. I fell in love with this house the minute I saw it in construction. And knew it would be home for me.
