Man Renovates 70s Airstream into Father/Daughter Tiny Home

This post contains affiliate links.

This is the story of a man who renovated his 70s Airstream into an awesome tiny home on wheels that he now lives in with his daughter.

It’s a 1976 Airstream Ambassador. It measures 30′ from the rear to the hitch and offers about 28′ of space inside. From the outside, it still looks like a classic Airstream travel trailer. When you go inside, you’ll find a unique living area with a kitchen, daybed, dining table that converts into a bed, a bathroom, and plenty of storage throughout.

Wow! It’s so beautifully done, a wonderful small space! He has so much to be proud of. Perfect for just the two of them while she’s so young.

great story….he’s done what I hope to do in the near future….you don’t need much to build a functional home….very creative on a tight budget

Love love love that bathtub! One of my major tiny wants is a proper tub but it’s something I rarely see people trying to incorporate.

Agreed! First thing I noticed is the tub – guess it’s practically a necessity with a very small child, but as far as I’m concerned it’s a necessity for this big child too! I’ll downsize almost anything else, but gimme dat tub.

Agree here too, and the first thing I noticed as well. Old bones need to soak from time to time.

I think this airstream is so simple with a comfortable feel to it …I love the wood pallet use and how it houses the fridge yet also seperates the dining area from couch….the cabinetry in the kitchen is modern and I like the bright color and the long counter space. Also its a sweet video seeing this young man raise his daughter with simplicity in mind allowing him to truly enjoy her while she is growing.

Love it, the re-do and the life he’s made for the two of them!
Just wondering his final cost, how he found the place he parked it and his monthly expense for parking?

I would have done it a lot different, however, the redoing of an older travel trailer or motor home is an excellent idea. I really am amazed that more people do not opt for this choice.

Downsizing and uncluttering my financial world and loving the Tiny Home movement from condo living to a smaller space is in my future. Not because of finances but as stated I need a project. It might not include a daughter but such an inspiration on so many levels. Cheers ??✌️

I always loved Airstream trailers although they aren’t offer maximized space to live in but they are aeorodynamical on the road.
This guy has been lucky to get it cheap and made a great transformation on a tight budget. Well done!

I’m surprised at what great design sense this Dad has. He’s done a great job with the housing and with the parenting. Kudos!

Great job, great story, and a really good functional space. Can I also compliment the camera user, for keeping the video picture stable and watchable. Far too many videos lately have too much “shaky-camera” which makes them virtually unwatchable and makes me feel seasick, so excellent job to all involved with this one! ☺
