Man Builds Portable Tavern Tiny House on a Trailer

I’m excited to share these man cave tiny houses and bars on wheels with you by Wade Heyl in Houma, Louisiana. He’s starting a tiny house business called Manstrocity that specializes in man caves built from sinker cypress that was cut down over 150 years ago and reclaimed cypress that comes from homes that were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Pretty cool, right?

This is the first tiny house that Wade built thanks to some help of friends and family too. It’s really a portable tavern which he plans on using to advertise his business. But when you go inside you’ll be able to find an upstairs queen size sleeping loft and a bathroom with toilet and even a custom keg urinal! So the possibilities are endless.

This custom tiny house on wheels (or I guess I should say… tiny tavern on wheels) also has TVs, premium sound system, and much more. If you like Wade’s work pretty soon he’ll be ready to take orders and right now I’m excited to help spread the word about what he’s doing. So please enjoy Wade’s tiny tavern tour below, visit his Facebook Page, and if you’d like to re-share it below. Thank you!

This looks fantastic! A great idea for a college town or retirement village.

My only thoughts are that it needs a few more taps; perhaps 4 total instead of just 2. I know refrigeration would be a concern, though.
While the urinal made from a keg is pretty ingenious, I hope that a tipsy patron wouldn’t, ahem, get cut while doing his business and swaying back and forth. That could be painful, lol!

Man Cave, indeed! Puts me to mind of the Rumpus Rooms of the early 70’s; perhaps that was the impetus?

    Is that a urinal I spy? 😉

Well, “If They Build It, They Will Come…and drink” Sláinte!

        Hey Wade,
This is great! We love the open ceiling, the wood counters! Thumbs up all around!

Foraging swamp cypress reminded us of New Zealand kauri. Downed during a volcano blast 25,000 years ago, it’s known as the oldest workable wood.

And our whole office had a great imagining this full of people… without the corner jacks down to minimize swaying(s). Way fun!

Wade, you Louisiana boys know how to party! And yes, we will bring our own… HA!

Handsome! Tailgating with this “manstrocity” would keep the stadium empty! All that wood. Is Cypress a heavy wood?

I was super into this until I saw the exclusionary name of the company. I certainly won’t spend my money where I am not wanted.

Yeah, gave me a creepy feeling of times bygone when I saw what looks like a “No Women Allowed” sign in the rear. Spoiled my enjoyment completely.

Ya’ll gals need to lighten up. Take it for what it is. You’ve gotta admit we women own/decorate the entire house. I had a sports room built just for my hub. I’m not taking anything into it and it only enhances things when you make it a big deal. It’s a man cave. Heck our homes are our women caves.

If you read the entire sign you’ll see that it reads “We do not serve women, you must bring your own”. It is a joke sign.

The name of the company is actually Wasted Time. This model was called the “Manstrocity” which was a term my 9 year old son had coined one day. There was nothing misogynistic intended in any part of the business.

  • March 12, 2015, 10:46 pm

This reminds me of the tiny bars in Key West but much nicer.
    Hope business is good!

Lynnette, the moment you start telling people what they need to do, then you’ll know that’s why some need man caves. Expressing oneself and one’s perspective is not grounds for you to direct my path. I hope you don’t do that on a regular basis. Especially with your man. This tiny bar on wheels is a form of artistic expression, open to interpretation by all. My interpretation is my own and there is nothing for me to lighten up about. Considering how this website tends to attract independent, strong-willed, nomadic types, please consider that you’re hardly going to change anyone’s behavior or choices in gray areas. Let’s stick to science here and allow the free expression of opinion.

Hi Juli. No I’m not here to beat up on anyone. I think looking into something too long will change the value of what it really is. My husband is a very hardworking train engineer, drag racer and an overall lover of sports. He had his memorabilia and framed car photographs of he racing that deserved to be displayed in his own home. This is the reason I had this built for him. it’s a very beautiful room with nice furnishings AND I stay in this room probably 90% of the time myself. I just think (my free expression too) that the builder shouldn’t be shunned for creating such a great space and I think it is partly humorous with the “no women allowed .” Reminds me of the He Man Woman Haters Club back in the Little Rascals day. I think having an open mind and a non judgmental heart are perfect keys to a happy life.

I LOVE This Site, ‘Tiny House’. I’ve gotten many, MANY Great ideas from this Page. I Too, have several Wonderful Designs of my own.—(I’ll share them if anyone wishes to see)—-When it comes to a ‘True Mini-Bar’, Cripes, It’s Just TOO Small. At Talladega we had about 15 people in the trailer with a guy playing guitar and only about 3 people were standing. There’s built-in benches on both sides of the trailer, built-in bar stools, and seating behind the bar. Thanks for your input though.

I have lived in a 4 bedroom woman cave most of my life and that’s fine. So what’s wrong with a man cave less than the size of a bedroom? I was welcome in the frilly woman environment. Women would be welcome in this man’s environment. Ladies, we aren’t the enemy. Settle down.

Lol I think it’s cute. Once we started thinking of cool stuff for my husband’s man cave, I started wanting it to be my “man cave” haha. For now we just decided to turn our living room into that space, at least until we have kids. We built a little bar together, finally got a tv, and made it an awesome entertaining space. I love it

I’m with you, Lynette and Ruckus. some of these women really need to grow some thicker skin and go buy a sense of humor. Hey, theY are on sale 2 for a dollar on the end cap at Walmart. Go get one, please I always encourage my husband to spend time with a group of men for male bonding and whatever their activities. Women have their women’s weekend so why can’t the fellas have theirs.

Have party will travel, ha. Yes, a pe_ing man would be wise to hold tight to one of those hand grips on top of the urinal! I love the gambrel roof. With a wink and a smile, I bet this guy would hand out a few cold ones to the ladies. 😉

These Dutch barn style tiny homes are great. More room in the “attic.”
It’s a really simple thing to buy a barn style shed and finish it out. Much cheaper and quicker.

    .
This is a GREAT idea — and so clever!!!

Also — I JUST LOVE the idea of those
    REALLY FUNNY “no women” signs!!!

They remind me of the ‘Our Gang’
    comedies with Spanky and Alfalfa!

Keep up the GREAT WORK !!!

How fun! As the copy suggests, this could be a great man cave or family cave! I could see it for tailgate parties as well as used at family functions, reunions, and that type of thing.
