LumbecĀ is a tiny house builder in Gatineau, Quebec that I’m showing you here today. They’ve recently launched their new Tiny House Lumbec website along with a 3D rendition prototype of their tiny house on wheels.

You’ll also get to see a reclaimed tiny barn cabin that they built out of reclaimed materials a couple of years ago. It isn’t completely finished inside, but you can definitely see the tiny house living potential here.

According to their about page, they will be building out their new tiny house on wheels design over the next two months while sharing the process. Please enjoy and if you want to help spread the word about this builder re-share these Lumbec Tiny Houses below. Thank you!

I actually like their small barn better than the prototype. Much homier looking!

I really like the barn. It’s amazing what some well placed punches of gorgeous color can do. Two thumbs up!

As for the prototype: I’d like to see bedroom and the bath pics. Is the tall “L” shaped panel on the outside just a contrasting exterior treatment, or is this smoked plexiglass that looks outdoors? I’d like to see this whole TH actually done out in reality to get a better sense of it. Print curtains would probably give it a homey-er feeling. I think a drop-down table with two folding chairs would be preferable to this very narrow hall table with two stools. This THOW has some nice features to it but I think it needs a little tweaking.

Doors belong on gable ends, other than that, nice design.

Really? I think doors belong where you want to put them. If you pay the bill you should get what you want.

Let me know how you feel about that the next time you’re waiting under the rain line for someone to answer the door.

I like the little barn too! I’m thinking of doing a barn style, tiny house on a foundation. I can’t hack the loft at my age, and neither can my dogs, but a small house on a foundation would work for me. Love the little barn!

Lisa E. : The design drawing reads ‘table pliante’ (folding table) and shows it in the open position in front of the banquette… A visit to the blog at company site states that they are waiting for the customised trailer base they designed, anticipating delivery from its manufacturer on Feb 20. They will then begin constructing their prototype. They also state that following comments and input they have made changes in several areas that will improve the design (one thing I recall is moving the ladder to the higher ide of the roof …). G

I love the little barn as well!! Love the pink “doors”. I’d like to see a real stairway, tiny house proportions of course, as well. I want a loft or small upper level but my knees can’t do ladders and my dogs haven’t mastered their gymnastic classes as of yet. Otherwise it is my favorite so far. So many options for kitchen and bathrooms and the ability to design it however one would like makes it a great option.

Please, in the future consider that many looking into tiny homes are retirees or just empty nesters looking to downsize . STEPS, not ladder. Preferably steps with storage. šŸ™‚

The prototype is similitude to many Tiny Houses where there isn’t a feeling of a “seperate” seating area; a mini-living room so-to-speak. Yes, I see the little bench at the end but the area appears to small and not seperate enough-many other houses on this site have handled this much better.

Love, love, love, the concept. I believe this movement is catching on. I might consider investing in it. Not ready to move in at this point, but getting close to retirement. I’m currently living in a three bedroom big house. What’s the point. So this is already happening in Montreal, Kingston, La Peche, and New York (as a means to solve homelessness). Many other places to numerous to count. Interested in being a part of development, promotion, marketing and sales. Have you met with City of Gatineau? Contact me please.

I really like the doors and windows and the fact that there was 2 doors Great. The ladder is really really steep looking, for me I could not do this, due to arthritis. But so far so good, great job.

The barn style is really cute but the prototype looks more full time living appropriate. Both are very nice in their own way.

The Pink-Violet door is by far the Artist’s Touch! Which continues inside with other details. All this denotes a Sensitive and Eccentric Soul It’s Good
