This is Luise and Shawn’s amazing Runaway Shanty.

They started their tiny journey back in 2013, and began living in their tiny home in October of this year. Now they are travelling around the country in their beautiful little home.

What’s coolest is that you can follow their entire tiny journey on their blog and Facebook page, and read about the whole process, including what it really cost them!

Now this looks fun 🙂 I love a barn roof, too!

Picture-perfect spot. Love the fog.

The flooring is wonderful. I love the colors.

Perfect number of windows, and I like the curtain option.

Looking back to the bathroom.

Tons of headroom in this loft, and a great skylight.

Peek into the bathroom.

Saying I love your home, doesn’t really express how absolutely stunning it. Well done. But…. I LOVE YOUR HOME!

Cozy, sumptuous, and solid feeling. Well done! The use of painted surfaces contrasted with natural wood keeps the entire space interesting and emphasizes the barn gable roof – it is more interesting than the traditional pitched or saltbox/shed roof most tiny houses seem to have and it appears to provide more loft headroom. I am still bothered though by sleeping quarters located over the bathroom that every tiny house with a sleeping loft seems to provide. I understand the spacial design requirements — just sayin’ it bothers me a bit.

Why do you dislike them above the bathroom?

They did an outstanding job on their “Runaway Shanty” home. Very good use of space. The decor is great and love the judicial use of wood. This is a small space, but still very homey and open. I hope they have many happy journeys!

I really enjoyed your tiny house. Do you have blue prints on how you built it?
