Living in a Tiny House Helps Ph.D. Grad in Big Ways

I’ve talked about April Anson and her tiny house before. She’s a Ph.D. graduate who decided to go tiny for economic reasons since there were no jobs in her field. Living in a tiny house has made things better for her.

With the cost savings from her decision to be living tiny she’s able to travel to more conferences she enjoys, she can buy and read more books, and she just gets to have more personal freedom.

Otherwise, April says, she’d be having to spend  up to 75% of her income on rent. And that’s no way to get ahead.

I really like this gal’s tiny house! She’s added so much character to it with her decorations, so unique and interesting.

I also like her use of that front nook for a dedicated desk, and all the books she managed to fit in. Plus that chair can be used as extra seating, or the desk could double as a dining area.

The barn-style roof lends some extra room to the sleeping loft, too. Looks like she was quite deliberate with her design decisions…and it paid off!

I wish her luck finding work in her field in these hard times… 🙂

What a smart cookie! Lovely little house, and with her great attitude and personality, I’m sure she has a shining future ahead of her. Best wishes!
