Live-Edge Beetle Kill Gooseneck by Alpine Tiny Homes

This is the latest from Alpine Tiny Homes in Utah: A live-edge beetle kill tiny home on a 28 ft. gooseneck.

The home, built for an an artist, features both a loft kid’s bedroom (with under-bed storage) as well as a gooseneck master bedroom. I really love the studio loft with a skylight where the artist can make masterpieces! The u-shaped kitchen and full bath both feature gorgeous copper sinks, and there’s even a doggy and cat door under the gooseneck stairs.

Looking from the gooseneck at the main living area. Live edges!

There’s both a mounted TV and then a chalkboard “picture.”

U-shaped kitchen (my favorite!) with pull-out trash and spice rack.

Much-needed closet/pantry space off the kitchen.

Storage steps make the stairs practical (the bamboo flooring is lovely).

Love these pull-out drawers in the pantry. Built-in wine rack.

Another view of the pantry.

The fridge was “on the way” when the builder took pictures.

I’m all about this copper sink! Does it get more stunning?

Space for a washer/dryer and another look at the floors.

Stairs to the master bedroom in the gooseneck. Door to bath.

Above the bathroom there’s the studio loft for creation!

Burnt orange bedroom door matches the exterior.

Love the nautical bedding inside the master!

Another mounted TV up in the loft bedroom.

Great storage! Also, I love skylights in the lofts.

The rope lighting makes the place feel more fun.

Composting toilet, doggy door and bath/shower.

Cute copper bowl sink in the bathroom. Love this.

I’ve never seen a shower stall like this! How unique.

Love this set-up. Would need railings on the stairs for me. Love the copper sink and vanity bowl. Looks really nice. Lots of cupboards. Very nice wooden floors. Goosenecks seem to be my favourites. It’s amazing how many different ideas people can come up with them and they all look nice.

Nice layout and use of space. I really like the ‘U’ kitchens in the THOW’s; frees up the room so it is not so narrow. Railings in the loft area – Yes! 🙂

I hate to be a pill, but… I really can’t stand “live edges”. I’ve seen this in both wood and granite countertops. If I inherited a THOW with this, it would be the very first thing to go. All I’m seeing is kids bumping their heads on the protrusions, clothing snagging on the rough edges, and my mind constantly objecting to this visual treatment. I understand that creators (builders) are constantly looking for something to give their product an edge (no pun intended), but sometimes it’s a good fad and sometimes it’s better left. I can see where this would appeal to younger owners, but for myself, I’d be much happier with sleek, clean lines that look and are efficient, and not fussy. Other than this, I like this build a lot. I too really like the gooseneck models even though they are way too big for my needs.

Love the idea of a gooseneck trailer with the master bedroom in that end, but I would extend it into the main house a little so you have more leg room. I like being able to stand up in the bedroom. The extra space over the bathroom is great; either open for a sitting area or closed for storage/closet area. It is hard to tell from the pictures, but is there a living room area? Also, this models has some interesting “holes” in it. I am assuming some sort of pet doors; in the bottom step and in the bathroom…do you think that is a doghouse area beside the toilet? I like the U shaped kitchen, but I don’t think I would have a pull out trash or spice rack. I want more storage space. I agree with Silver Gypsy about the live edge. A nice clean smooth Corian counter top would be great. I also would like to have smooth walls. Love wood, but completely surrounded is a bit much.

This thow has one really big problem. It is not mine. Other than it’s perfect. For the last year looking at these thows is a new addiction for me. I can spend hours (like 6 a day) looking at them and If this were made completely off grid (and I mean at least 150 gallons of fresh water tank) I might just consider becoming a home owner again.
