This looks like the perfect size and layout but I’d love to get a rough idea of the actual configuration of the cabin. Is it a mobile home with wheels hidden? How large?

Pretty darned perfect for my tastes if the bathroom is separated from the kitchen, although I like more counter space! I’d like to see a floorplan. I won’t need the stove for heat at all, living in the tropics, and instead give me a nice secretary-style desk big enough for my computer and my peripheral equipment, and a place for my sewing machine. I can do without that long wall seat, please, in exchange for those things and some storage shelving on which I would place pretty fabric bins I’ll make to hold more fabrics. This is clean, modern and pretty. As a permanent dwelling, I’d make the porch into a deck at least 3 to 4 times larger (gravel is not bare-foot-friendly!) and have an outdoor grill the size of a large pig for BBQ-ing! (And a bar set up, a fridge, a counter-top ice maker, a place to hang the beach towels and a basket for flip-flops, and party lights. Lots of party lights.) Oh – this isn’t a giveaway? Sorry. I thought it was the next HGTV Dream House!

It’s a very nice place but I don’t consider an ad for a $300 a night vacation spot (plus a $100 cleaning fee) an example of simple living.

    Nice design, wrong site.

Who said anything about simple living? Tiny/small homes are for all people. This beach place is a rental in the San Francisco area which is very pricey. If someone wants to build something similar to live in and selects an area where costs are much lower, so be it.

I have to agree with the first poster. That $100 clean-up fee sounds like a money grab.

I have rented rooms by the beach before (at-least 5 times) in three different places, and never, never had to pay a clean up fee.

PS. And yes I was paying $150 to $250 a night.

It’s pretty common with rentals. I’ve stayed all over in Airbnb rentals and had to pay a clean-up fee for all of them, I’m afraid.

Maybe that is the difference, I never rented thru Airbnb.

Do you have the house plans, materials, and related costs to build this house?

I like it and if it where available down on the beach, I would move on it to see it’s cost’s, and lease or buy if possible on the beach island…..
