I’m not sure if you guys have ever seen Jonathan’s Fencl before but for those of you who haven’t, here it is.
I’ll just feature a few of his pictures here plus his Youtube video and then I’ll guide you over to his LiveJournal site where you can get more pictures and complete details on all of his progress.
I can’t wait until the winter is over so we can start getting updates from him again. He does a great job of showing us what it’s like to build a Tumbleweed house.

I noticed on his blog that Jonathan talks about problems finding a place to “park” his Fencl. Two questions, (1) is it b/c it’s the equivalent of parking a mobile home (which often requires special zoning) and (2) can the Fencl be built on a slab foundation or piling and avoid building permit requirements b/c it is less than 200 square feet?
Hey Aili.. I think you have the right idea. It’s an unusual thing, a tiny house on a trailer- so it is challenging to find a place to park it although you can do it at most RV parks and some people’s backyards many times. It can be built on a foundation if it meets “shed” requirements for that location, which is different depending on your location. Sometimes it’s 100 sq ft or less. Other times 120, just depends. Hope this helps!
Hello i really liked the Fencl and this is the one that i’m thinking on building.
Why did he needed an secund heater the gas on isn’t enough?
Not sure about that second heater Luis.. I’ve been in Florida my entire life so I wouldn’t know but maybe it saves $/propane during certain times?
I saw the solar panel i don’t think that he is connected to the electricity
Yeah- not sure why. Guess it might be able to run off solar maybe?
He lives in Michigan.
