This is adorable! I love the unique exterior and the spacious feeling inside. The loft area is gorgeous and I like the hanging bed… very nicely done!

It’s about time we start seeing wider THOW’s. As someone who lives in 10’x27′, and has been in the standard 8.5′ wide THOW’s, I can say that the extra foot and a half makes a big difference. I will say this, though; the layout in mine is better. It’s similar, but on the left wall is all floor-to-ceiling closet. On the right wall is all bathroom. So there’s lots of closet space and the bathroom is bigger. The difference also being I don’t have a “living room” or a loft. I don’t want a loft – though this one looks very nice – and realistically, I don’t need a living room. I have a full sized XL bed and a table that comfortably seats 4, which I also use as my home office. 40″ TV mounted on the wall. Kitchen is laid out almost exactly like this one, except the stove is next to the fridge. (would be to the left of the fridge, in this picture).

To me, my place is way too small for two people to live in, but a good size for one. The loft would make it more suitable for two. Having said that, I still think 11’x30′ is the minimum shape for comfortable, long term living. I get by with 10’x’27’, but that little extra room at the foot of the bed and a little bigger shower stall and a tiny bit more floor space would be hard to complain about. If I wanted to live with someone else here, I’d want a loft with stairs, which means I’d want it 12’x30′ to accommodate them. So now you’re at 360sf – still under the 400sf limit – but truly livable for 2.

I agree 100% that the extra 1.5-2′ makes all the difference and allows normal furniture and a different function on each side.
I’ve recent built, lived in bother 12′, 10′ and much of my life in 4′-8′ wide and 10′ wide beats them all.
Though the 4′-6′ wide is a catamaran or tri which can be very cool too.
And allows using a ground floor bed going across the room and still have walking and desk, etc on the other side.
Under 12′ wide is easy to move as wide load permits are cheap and any tow truck, mobile home mover has them already for hire at reasonable rates if not moving too far.
My 10-16′ has everything I need with the kitchen, bath at one end and 14×10′ of open space to do as I please.
And NO lofts except for storage. I like 2′ wide ones the 16′ length of it gives a huge amount of storage.
And mine only costs $2k in new materials to build with a shed style roof, very easy to build. Though put on blocks, not a trailer.
Though if I ever need to move it, a flat bed wrecker can just winch onboard and take it to a new place and slide it back into place.
One can do it with a flat bed trailer too.

We recently viewed this home at the Tiny House Jamboree two weeks ago. I loved everything about it! A favorite at the Jam!

I really like the lower level, especially the murphy bed. I was curious what the cabinet is, the one on the wall next to the bathroom. The only change I’d make was to break up the loft. Maybe it’s the way the picture was taken, but it seems really long…too long for my old knees to crawl.

    • James D.
      November 9, 2017, 8:12 pm

The cabinet is basically an enclosed coat rack, mind it’s also right next to the front door…

This company always customizes their builds for their customers so no two are ever exactly alike and you can have it custom designed any way you want.

This particular house was something the owner of ITH wanted to do for some time and was his pet project to basically show what the company is capable of doing.

The next version he wants to make the roof more curvy and artistic, while when he was showing it off at the conventions he listed a number of ways it could be customized… Longer for a bedroom, with or without a loft, etc.

But of the hundreds that waited on line to see it surprisingly just about no one really suggested any major changes and there’s usually lots of suggestions because everyone likes it a little different…

      November 10, 2017, 2:12 pm

Vivian I too like the design but am thinking a smaller loft for grandkids and add 10′ with a Bedroom instead of the Murphy Bed. Many options can be used from existing RV’s that could cut costs even more. They were just building a show house and REALLY SCORED….They hit most of my style buttons and some of the material choices were perfect.
Most of what I design for Seniors has 1.5 baths and W/D with a dishwasher for Sanitation as I no longer trust my vision doing dishes. I specify a Conduction Cooktop and vented Convection/Microwave over to free up the base cabinet for two drawers of Pots and Pans. I use L.E.D. lighting and an On Demand H/H.
ALL my changes are easy for this builder and I am sure he would be VERY competitive even if shipped to the West Coast. Keep in mind this is a BUSINESS and they HAVE to make a profit so this house is planned for pretty, not cost or functions You or I may need.
To me, the biggest sale point is its location. Although I would never live in the east again, if you can stand the culture and weather, THIS is a perfect setting for long-term living. The structures can be built on site and never have to leave the complex. That allows many options as far as height and width of the unit.
Another question: Does their cabinet maker do Inset Cabinets? A requirement for my French Country Design.

      • James D.
        November 10, 2017, 5:00 pm

Yes, I believe he can do inset cabinets as he does completely custom cabinets for them.

They also make sure to use no-slam hardware as standard…

        • Eric
          February 21, 2018, 5:23 pm

          No slam hardware… lol

In NZ we call it soft close… probably a better way of marketing the product.

        • James D.
          February 21, 2018, 9:23 pm

Eric, no… Soft close is just what the hardware is actually called. No slam is an inside joke because this is a house built by Incredible Tiny Homes and the owner of that company likes to joke when he gives tours, which are usually done live on Facebook.

I’m sure even in NZ there are things with multiple ways to refer to it depending on who is saying it and what it is referring to…

  • Maria
    November 9, 2017, 6:48 pm

I didn’t see a closet for clothes,is there one? Love this house! I would only make one change and that would be the washer/dryer combo.

    • James D.
      November 9, 2017, 8:38 pm

There is a washer/dryer combo there… Unless you meant a different model?

For hanging, there’s the small cabinet by the front door… It’s meant for hanging things like coats and the box below for shoes…

The loft is suppose to be the primary storage area, they just left it open because whoever buys it may want to customize it in different possible ways…

There’s enough room up there for two sleeping areas, for example, and still room to move between them… The loft basically covers about 2/3 of the house… You can add a wardrobe or add a bar for hanging storage near the bed, etc… Wardrobe would fit pretty well with the theme of the house as well…

They have a custom furniture maker that works with them… Former customer himself. So any custom furniture you want can be made and put in…

    • Eric
      February 21, 2018, 5:30 pm

Did you realise the washer/dryer combo is set back into the wall to save usable space? That’s clever, don’t think I’ve seen that before in any tiny house.

  • Mike W
    November 9, 2017, 8:07 pm

Wider is great…until you need to move it..8.5′ is widest you can move by yourself.. 10′ will require commercial mover/permits plus , possible escort vehicles also.. check your states regs..

    • jerry
      November 10, 2017, 2:22 pm

Most states an owner can move their own larger than this one by simply buying a low cost wide load permit which lasts a yr.
Hiring it to be moved is fairly cheap if you don’t want to own a truck that can do it.

  • Brian Hensler
    November 9, 2017, 8:33 pm

Wonderful. Wondering if the chassis was a modified 8’4 or an original 10′ one.

    • James D.
      November 9, 2017, 8:45 pm

Modified, but they get their trailers from a custom trailer maker who makes the modifications for them.

  • Michael L
    November 9, 2017, 10:18 pm

While I like the idea of the added width, there is that trade off of transporting it yourself and obtains permut(s). And I do have to say, my first thought when I saw the exterior… “oh, a float for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!” Lol

If this had stairs instead of a ladder, this would be a winner.

  • ATBScott
    November 10, 2017, 11:49 am

Very nicely done. I like the “Bavarian” look and the bathroom and kitchen were both nice. I think the Murphy bed (esp the HUGE one they have there) negates a lot of the advantage of the extra width though… I would have put a pull-out sofa bed there and had both more comfortable seating and floorspace. I am a fan of the “fat” tiny house. Most will not be moved that often, and the extra foot and a half seems to make a big difference in not feeling claustrophobic.

    • Johanna Busch
      November 16, 2017, 11:27 am

“Bavarian look”??? Have you ever seen a Bavarian house? I guess NO. This looks like a christmas market stand or a witch house. This is not a
      good design. Inside is ok.

      • James D.
        November 16, 2017, 4:20 pm

It’s actually styled after the traditional English Thatched roof cottages.

Style aside, the roof is actually made of synthetic thatch material rated for 100% rain, snow, and mildew-proof… Impervious to insects, birds, and pests… Made from fire-retardant materials with a U.S. Class A fire rating and a U.K. AA fire rating… 4,000-hour accelerated UV tested… PA 100-95 wind-driven rain tested… FMRC severe hail damage tested… Resistant to wind up to 174 mph, Category 5 hurricane… 20 year product guarantee/warranty…

Basically, it’s designed extremely tough and will last a really, really, really long time… Similarly, the rest of the house is also well engineered for high insulation, durability, water proofing, etc.

Randy, the owner of ITH and designer of this house wants to do a more whimsical curvy roof design the next time he tries this for a more fantasy/storybook look but like all their other houses they’ll built it anyway you want… Don’t want a thatch style roof, they can easily swap it out for any number of other cottage style roofs or change up the design completely…

I too got to see this house several times at the Incredible Tiny House Tennessee Jam the end of October. I watched all the videos of them building it but when I saw it in person it was even nicer. Who ever decides to buy this is going to be a very happy customer

I agree the extra width really makes the difference and if you’re not towing your TH across America every summer – so tow it to that spot in the woods and park it.

And maybe the parade float feeling will wear off with time…

This perfect, I have never seen one I liked anywhere near this one. With the Murphey bed, it would be ideal for someone like me who has physical disabilities and can not climb stairs. With extra beds upstairs you have plenty of space for company.

Love my fellow Tennesseans! The house is truly great. We need more tiny homes with soaking tubs though. You could have put one in that shower with all the room it had. My only hiccup with this setup is that the land is leased. I know that appeals to most tiny movers, but I want my own land. That part of TN sure is pretty though.

  • Luke R
    December 10, 2019, 9:18 pm

the older I get the less I can tolerate or use ladders, let alone very narrow steep stairs. I like some of the layout of this tiny house – especially the murphy bed, even though it has way too many of those unnecessary throw pillows. Part of tiny living is supposed to be having nice spaces without all the excess.
