To save people time, the 1st video is informative, the 2nd video is nothing more than peoples opinions of it: NO INTERIOR FOOTAGE!!!

I copied this from the website: “Heijmans ONE’s target demographic comprise the well-educated and single millennials between the ages of 25 and 35, who make too much to qualify for the Netherlands’ social housing, but not enough to secure good housing in the free rental sector. Heijmans ONE hits that sweet spot on the rental market by offering an affordable single-occupancy space that comprises all the necessary facilities like a kitchen, living room, bathroom, loft bedroom, and outside patio in a light-filled, two-story structure. Each dwelling will be part of a cluster of Heijmans ONE housing located on empty urban lots to create an attractive neighborhood of young professionals that would also help revitalize the surrounding site.”

Very interesting concept. I am confused, however, as to HOW you get into this project. Is it a lottery? The one woman who is interviewed in the 1st video states “I won the chance to live here for 3 months.” And then what? I hope that she won some contest vs. the right to settle down in the home; WHO would live anywhere for 3 months, knowing from the day that you move IN that 3 months later, you have to move OUT?

Now, to be fair, if you are homeless or abused, then having a safe place to call your own until you regroup makes sense. I volunteered for a Domestic Abuse Shelter for several years and the women and children who came there were allowed to stay for 3 months. But, if this above arrangement is supposed to help Millennials, 3 months isn’t going to do anything.

Wish there was a bit more clarification but BRILLIANT job and concept! Also nice that floor plans and loads of photos were provided. 😀

De Nederlanders zijn het beste in alles!

Mijn geliefde moeder in de wet was Nederlands. Een vriendelijker vrouw die u nooit zou vinden. R.I.P. moeder Maria. U worden dagelijks gemist.

These are awesome. Hope someone in the U.S. picks up on this and makes them available here. I could definitely live on one.

Home depot sells out buildings and one of them doesn’t look like these but the shape is the same and I played around with plans to turn one into a house with almost this identical floor plan. I love creative house plans. Love tree houses and hay bale houses. The only deterant is the cost of many of these is prohibitive for most people. (Including me).

You say, ” The only deterant is the cost of many of these is prohibitive for most people.”

But the concept is they are prefabricated and made in a factory with rapid construction due to simple design and not to last forever…. should keep the price down don’t you think?

I would love to see a version with a deck on the top…maybe even on the back side.

Beautiful, clean lined design. I also wish that they were in the US.

Nice design but l don’t what it’s like where you folks live but do you know how hard and expensive it is to get a huge crane like that out in the middle of nowhere ? If the house is too expensive the crane just made sure it unaffordable.
I will stick to something a little more simple to build on the ranch. It is a nice design but way out of range for me to put up in Texas.

Well, isn’t that what you would expect if you decide to live in the middle of nowhere? Now, could you please tell me where to find this nowhere place that I could go an live in…? Obviously it isn’t in Texas as that is somewhere.

I guess you could maybe use these different sections to put them together differently so as to crate a whole different house as well… Making it larger or just a single level house to be different in style….
