I am looking for 1/4 acre with hopes to build. Where is Morgantown in relation to Roanoke Rapids NC? Looking to build permanent as close to Roanoke Rapids as possible I am 64, disabled, and raising a 14yr old granddaughter. She will be leaving for Duke University in 2021 with full scholarship. That will leave me alone and it will give her a place to live after I am gone. The pic of the site looks perfect. The size I would want to build is approx 800 sq ft with a loft.

It will probably be sold by the time you get this but,
    Thank you

I checked Google maps. It’s over 250 miles from Roanoke Rapids, so that’s a no-go.

Big thanks to Janet Thome for sending them our way to share!

this bullet point would seem to rule out most every THOW:
    • Tiny Home Friendly, Double Wide Or Modular Accepted ( No Single Wide)

    • Janet Thome February 17, 2017, 7:45 pm

The owner feels that tiny homes on wheels will be accepted,

But not the old single wides.

      Janet

thank you Janet. i guess my point is rather mute since anyone serious about such a purchase for their THOW would check on that … cheers

I’m curious why single wides are accepted but double-wides aren’t. I guess a double-wide can get as old and decrepit as a single-wide. And I guess by “share” the seller is just sharing the information, and not sharing the land at all.

      • Janet Thome February 18, 2017, 10:47 am

You read it wrong. Single wides are NOT allowed.

Tiny Homes, Double Wides Modulars are allowed. The owner is selling the land out right.
The owner will not be living there,

        Janet

Oops, you’re right, I did. But the question is still there. Why is one allowed and not the other?

  • ROSEE February 19, 2017, 3:02 pm

Ah shoot! A great price and it’s way down south!!!!

  • Janet Thome February 20, 2017, 2:26 pm

Not sure why single wides are not allowed, but it seems to be the case in alot of zoning.

    Janet
