I stayed at a “cottage” in Trinidad, CA that I think with a few minor modifications (a closet for clothes) would make a perfect little house.

Bed was on rollers and they had a sky light in the middle of the room so you could roll it out and look up at the stars.

Here are a few pictures I took.

The place was called Golden Eagle Cottages, you can find them on Trip Advisor but their pictures aren’t as detailed of the inside like mine.

I would guess the cottage to be 400 – 450 sq. ft., not including the front porch/deck.

Thanks, Minette, for the photos. Adorable exterior, and the porch is perfect. I like the idea of the bed in the corner. I agree about a closet being necessary. Where did you put your clothes? I would have made the bathroom or kitchen smaller, and the bed nook bigger, or placed a nice-looking wardrobe for clothes SOMEwhere. I would also ditch the uncomfortable little table and stools in favor of a real table or even a rolling island for crosswords or maps or guacamole dip and chips. Quality place, but as you pointed out, staying there reveals the few bumps. Of course I would be on the front porch all the time, waiting for someone else to cook dinner in that kitchen 🙂

Put on your glasses, Sal, there’s a cute little table by the window, next to a big cushy chair, perfect for a book and a cup of chocolate. If someone were going to stay longer than a few days, I agree a bigger table would be more practical for meals or hobbies than the uncomfortable little teeter-table (maybe you can hang your clothes from it). This does reinforce the wisdom of spending a few nights in a tiny house motel, though, to see how personal tastes impact a floor plan. I love the roll out bed, and could see myself adding a curtain for the nook. What do they call those things in Sweden, Cahow? Not on top of my Scandinavian tonight. Oh yes, thanks to Minette for sharing her vacation place. I’m going to go google Trinidad.
