Not bad, but not that thrilling either.. I mean that dark wood just makes the place so gloomy…!

one man’s gloomy is another man’s stylish! I like the bold contrast in woods a lot! Sleek and modern but still warm and inviting…!

The only thing I like about this tiny house is the floor and the shelf brackets. Sorry!

I have been a fan of Brevard for a long time. This effort is a big departure from their other builds. I’m not a fan of rustic (the galvanized water tub for a bathtub, open shelving, or “natural” edges on counter tops and shelving,) so I’m going to recuse myself and say that my favorite build is their “Sunnyside”; always has been and still is.

I think people tend to forget that these are ‘tiny’ houses and there is not enough room to put in everything you would like. If someone wants everything and the kitchen sink then a tiny house isn’t for them. As this is my house, we felt it was necessary to sacrifice kitchen space to make as much living space possible as I have a family that I like to spend time with. As much as I love cooking I sacrificed my kitchen for living space to hang out and relax with my family. Other people want more kitchen space then a family room and that is ok. I don’t understand the need for people to bash the owners for their own choices in their own homes. These houses are built for the customer, not for the strangers to criticize and belittle. Have a great day!

So sorry Sarah. I very much agree. Since most tiny homes are custom-built, you have to keep in mind that someone really wanted them that way 🙂 — Tiny House Talk Team

I love this tiny house! So cute! I like the contrast between the white shiplap and the dark floors. And I think the stairs at the back are cool but I would be interested to know if they have accesable storage in them..

I love the unique design of the entry to the secondary sleeping loft. Also, LOVE the bathtub!! And that kitchen sink! But of course I would do my kitchen and layout diffently. That’s the beauty of designing a tiny house, it’s suited for the person that lives there. A tiny house is as unique as a fingerprint to each individual owner.

Reading these comments I don’t think some people realize how personalized tiny homes are to each owner.

I love the Ft Austin! It creative and unique, with a very efficient layout! The functionality is top notch. The artsy touches really show off the owners’ personalities. A beautiful aspect of tiny living is the ability to put your uniqueness on show, as well as to create a perfectly functional space based on your individual lifestyle needs. Well done! Love your life and be well!

I love the contrasting colors and the live edges! So much beautiful woodwork, and I really like the layout. I wish the photos showed the sizes of the lofts more clearly. It’s difficult to tell how large they are.

I had to go back and look through the pictures again to see what all the fuss was about. Every home I have ever seen would need to be adjusted a little here and there to suit me, so I don’t get hung up on the little stuff or count those as flaws in the house. I just start imagining the little things I’d do to make the space suit me. I could easily see myself living in a house like this one.

The price is not bad for the size. It costs half that much for the materials to build one this nice–nevermind the labor involved. After spending the last year (and counting) building my tiny, I have a huge amount of respect for the work it takes to put them together. Way to go, Brevard!

There’s a lot to like about this house, the hidden stairs to the cleverly closed in loft to start with. I love the bath fixtures and tub. The ladder is a clever design, also. The kitchen counters and other wood elements in the house are beautifully done, and I love the barn door and the way the bath is situated. The kitchen sink is wonderful. it ‘s a really pretty house.

Nice house Sarah, and I especially like the stairs as well as the fact that it appears as though you can shut the main lift away from the rest of the gphoyse, maybe with curtains,if you wanted too. I have always wondered how one person would have privacy if their partner has friends over and they just don’t want to join in, maybe not feeling well or just don’t get on with them. Curtains separating the lift from the living area would solve that problem especially with the hidden staircase as well (and surely that alone would be a huge hit with visiting kids who read or watch kids books/films (smugglers, hidden passages etc). Really like this design, and decorating is purely a personal choice. You like the wood but your best friend might like brilliant pink and dark blue, when it comes down to it wood can easily be painted if you get fed up with it in a couple of years time and want a new colour scheme.
