BEAUTIFUL! Nothing I wouldn’t change! The sink in daughter’s loft is different but very handy, I’m sure with children. Well done, fantastic design & use of space!

Come on, with kids there’s ALWAYS an excuse to not brush their teeth.

This home is really nice. I enjoy seeing most of them. But realistically most of them are good for 1 person, o.k. for 2, but when it is a family, there is just not enough storage. Kids toys & necessities take up a lot of space and then we have Mom & Dad’s also . . . .

It definitely isn’t for everyone, but it’s cool to see these folks trying 🙂 — Tiny House Talk Team

The whole point is to live “TINY” and minimally…. to NOT have the abundance of toys… to NOT have the abundance of clothing- but to live just… simple. 🙂

Wonderfully designed: open, clever use of space. Loved the sink upstairs: unique concept! Could be perfect, separate
area for doing stained glass work.

Very nice! Everything looks well planned out and built. But what is it with a sink up in one of the lofts? Otherwise, good job!

The sink is probably for various things perhaps to clean up the baby?

Why is there a 1-foot gap between the skinny staircase and the wall? It would be very easy to fall into that gap and break a bone.

Beautiful house…! Although I never understand why so many tiny house builders use that over hang design in their tiny houses, don’t get me wrong, I like the extra space, and I love the fact it gives a covered area to put something that you want to protect but not to the point where it’s all covered up….! It’s just I have seen it used too often, and it’s starting to become expected, and included in the design of every tiny house…. But I still give this tiny house a ten, but please don’t ruin my day by telling me what it costs….!

Checking the builders website, I learned that the family lived in the tiny house only a few months. It is for sale because of “change in life circumstances and zoning issues.”

What can I say, Very nicely done up. But too BIG , Too much of everything…I’d prefer something a little more less.. For my needs. The less you have the less to worry about and take care of..Which all could be easily replaced if need be..

Yes I understand , Togetherness might be a nice thing.. But Why would anyone want to subject themselves into such cramped space. ( which really what it would be, with anymore than 2 people living in such square footage) I’m a big fan of being mortgage free , living with less and organizing your living space.. But It’s hard for me to wrap my head around families adapting to this full time in such close quarters.. We all need space away from one another at times. But in a family situations no matter where you turn or look your loved ones are just a few feet away . I can’t image how that would work, on rainy or snowy days.

Well Dominick, go and check out how a LOT of people live in Asia, Africa etc., and then come back and tell us it’s a cramped space. : P

Well, Eric . I already have Checked out how others live around the world , And by comparison to us most of us . I’m telling you those are cramped as well. thing is many of us aren’t from Aisa or Africa. And Many don’t know any different either If given more space for themselves makes one wonder if they would choose the privacy instead of this too close for comfort.. I’m a big fan of the tiny house movement where less is more, minimalism, originating things and being mortgage free. but maybe ith just only one other person and a dog maybe in something 200sq ft. or less..

I just found out the price of this house…! $80,000.00 , You don’t won’t to hear what I have to say about that, just believe me it’s not good….!

I have a lot of trouble with the over-complicated roof lines that seem so popular with many THOWs. I just don’t see the gain by badly mimicking a sub-urban home exterior, when it only dictates the need to sacrifice the interior living space/comfort (with sight-lines and air flow presumably taking the biggest hit). Additional materials and labour costs to accomplish as well. The whole thing’s lost on me.

Can we get some tiny homes with a loft for storage or sleeping plus a
    Double twin bed area too

Haha well, I don’t build the tiny homes so I am limited to what’s on the market. If I see any I will though!

  • October 25, 2017, 1:46 pm

I live not far from here. I can’t find a piece of property that will allow a tiny house in this area. Is there any updates on where to park the tiny houses?

America, the land of the free, except to build a house the size YOU want on YOUR land because someone in the GUMMINT wants to financially rape you. Also applies to many other countries as well.

Looking at pictures it almost looks like 2 different interiors in the same article. Agree about the gap between the wall and the stairs, seems to be a waste of space as well as dangerous while the step ladder up to the other loft is dangerously placed, looks to be right over the oven and blocks access into (or out of) and the kitchen area. Wouldn’t want to be using it during the day. Why a second sink upstairs with so much storage space in it, looks unsuitable for clothing etc. to be put there and makes it look like a separate house in a house, really weird. Where do they all eat, tiny table which couldn’t seat 4,nor could it really be used for work either homework or working from home. Looks nice in the photos but nowhere near enough storage space for a couple let alone a family of 4(and yes I live in a THOW, one with lots of storage and all on one level (45′ x 12′)and even with lots of plastic storage boxes as well there is still never enough. 4 adults, 2 work at home, 1 goes out to work and 1 does a bit of both, I can assure you that there is never enough storage or table space (we have 2 full size tables and 2 desks in the living area which is 12′ x 17′ and plenty of built in storage but it is still not easy to find space for working from home),

Very interesting storage staircase and library combo, but I would want a more prominent bannister (metal maybe) that would go all the way to the top (floor) for those night runs to the loo. Also, I love the idea of mixed woods in a build; it adds dynamics to the space if the trim is in a darker colored wood than the walls, with the flooring being even darker. It makes things interesting and removes that industrial/commercial feel and it’s such a simple technique while retaining the warmth of wood.

Can’t for the life of me, imagine carrying a baby up that ladder. Parents bed comes right to the edge of the loft. The front door looks a bit like an old prison door.. Not an effect you’d want in a tiny home.

its beautiful, I never like lofts, but this is very nice. As far as some of the “bickering” about confined spaces goes, think back to the days when people were not trying to “out do” each other with their possessions. I whole family lived in very close confines because quite honestly most families back then the husband worked and mom stayed home with the kids so the extra money for big huge houses just wasnt there or for those who did have the big huge houses there were usually MULTIPLE family members living there. We as a society have just gotten spoiled and constantly wanting more and more and more
