NOW we’re talking!!! Proper furniture that isn’t bolted to the walls! And a real coffee table in the lounge…and nightstands next to the bed! I believe I may just ~swoon~ over a tiny house actually embracing some of the lifestyle needs of people who LIKE furniture!

A bit too much “woody” look for me but a can of paint can take care of that. *clap-clap* applause! 😀

There are some lovely stains in pastel colors that let the woodgrain show. Nice alternative to paint.

Oh no! Love the wood the best.

Well, maybe pastel stain. Would have to see it.

Nice! No lofts, yeah, and still plenty of storage and living space! Too big to pull without permit, but not a problem for me! But unlike the previous person, I would do more built-ins for myself. Would actually increase the storage and living space!

I have been searching for the building plans for Jens Resom’s 1967 prefab cottage, can anyone help me? Thank you!

Very nice! Well designed. I wonder, what do they look like on the outside? Are they fixed-site or on wheels? They look heavy. Must be fixed-site???

You can see the exterior at http://www.escapehomes.us/#!premiere/c17d0. At 11’2″ wide it would need to be fixed, right? I’m almost certain it would be too wide to pull but I could be wrong.

not too wide to pull but would require a special permit like a mobile home.

A beautiful, well thought out space in which to live. I could very easily live in one of these. I especially like the fact that they’re customizable so that they can be built to one’s preferences.

    Wow. Just wow.
I’m wedded to a bungalow w/ porch look [to fit my neighborhood] and this has that. And the interior is awesome. My only concern would be the option of making it wheelchair friendly.
I’ve been thinking about employing Tuff Shed to install a shell-on-slab then finishing the interior later – – at least partly DIY. But this option may actually be less expensive [and more convenient.] That’s assuming we could incorporate the necessaries for wheelchair accessibility. I’m not there at the moment and may never need it – – but I AM 67 so planning for whatever may come . . . .

As shown the bedrooms are not universally accessible but with single beds it will pr0bably work. Be sure to specify 3ft door widths….

The evolving Escape continues to be my number one choice for our retirement home. Hope to visit Canoe Bay this year!

I really liked the original Escape park model the best. That one was very elegant but not–like this one– affordable to most of us.

No this is a terrific small house! Even better, if you put two of these – the Premier Deluxe 2015 and the Bunkhouse option – together (turn the 2nd kitchen into a laundry space, take out the 2nd bath for a bigger kitchen) then you would have a really fantastic small house. Love the look and the finish. While not inexpensive, it finally looks like it would be worth spending the money. Thanks for sharing.

I emailed the Escape people and was told that there is a shell only option. The shell only cost 27000 . I not sure if there is any wiring or tough plumbing included. I am 62 and the handicap accessible is something I hadn’t thought about but rob ably should have ! I am interested to hear what you find out..

Nice but way out of what I am willing to pay for a tiny house.

Is there anywhere that park models can be used as a full-time residence?

Looking at the options list, getting one of these with even basic add-ons — washer/dryer, on-demand water heater, insulated glass for the sunroom — would get really pricey, really fast. O: Definitely not for the mortgage-free crowd.

Otherwise, these cabins would make perfectly livable small homes.

Definitely, Rue! There are park model communities throughout the country (especially here in Florida, many are 55+ only communities)

Nevermind I’m screwed. What I would add on would make it $150k or more. 🙁

      June 3, 2015, 11:10 am

Don’t worry Lynnette because there are other way more affordable park models out there 🙂

Ty Alex. I am in the process of re decorating a 1988 Shasta Revere 21 ft travel trailer my hub bought me for my birthday and going to live in it this Summer part time at the lake. Everythibg works on it and the interior is immaculate, just a bit outdated. I will get a better idea of what I do and do not really want or “need” and it’s coming along beautifully. I kept most of the wood paneling as it was in perfect shape, but painted the little bit of wallpaper it has. I’d love to post it when I’m done. Lemme know how. 🙂

.. Certainly not for those on little to no budget .. Nice though ..

    • Alex
      June 3, 2015, 11:08 am

True! There has to be ways for those willing to do it themselves to get it done similarly for much cheaper though, right? Yes! 😀

I hear you Sharon! Right now Andrea and I are living in a little cabin with a sleeping loft upstairs and the staircase can be somewhat dangerous at times, haha. Fortunately we’re still young 😀

Wood, wood, wood, everywhere! Would like to see the drywall option. In general those options just slaughter that price. $2500 for two tvs, mounted with blu-ray players is about twice what the cost should be and they can’t even hide the wires that well!

I have looked at a lot of Tiny homes. I love this Premier Cabin due to no lifts. I’m too old to climb a ladder. This would be a great in-law, retirement, elderly, or newly wed home!!
