According to New Atlas, it was built by Dan Huling, who is a theatrical prop and stage designer at Handsome Little Devils.

According to Wonderful Engineering, this tiny home on wheels was recently on the market for $74,000. It has since then sold, but Dan is taking inquiries for new projects! You can email him at: [email protected].

Ditto… and almost nowhere to store anything as far as I can see. Over-designed and impractical in terms of my needs/wants/taste, but I’m sure it’s a gem to somebody.
I’m a big fan of the modern eclectic industrial look. I know it may seem dark to some (which can easily be altered with a couple of gallons of paint) but I personally thought it looked elegantly charming. More importantly, the use of space was really thought out.
Some say the use of space was “really thought out”, but I would need a place to sit and relax. The stools aren’t relaxing for me. Otherwise, dark which is no biggie and can be fixed. I love the bathroom too. Just need to toss in a sofa or soft chair with a back.
You’re right, Sharene. I also like to be comfortable. But, I think sometimes people don’t see the difference between design and function. Design is individual preferences. It’s what can be changed to reflect individuality, and often can have little to no impact on a structure. Function, to me, is the structure. i.e. Many people want a bathroom close to a bedroom. But, because of weight requirements, it may either not be possible in a tiny house, or would require a major overhaul to the structure.
IMHO, this place is highly functional, mostly because I don’t want a loft, which would entail a major redesign. However, wanting more comfortable furniture…that is up to the individual owner. There is nothing that says you can’t throw out the stools, or pad them, or discard them entirely. You could even buy a comfortable love seat, if that’s what you want.
Actually its a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom only. I don’t see any living area beside breakfast bar. Although I like clear, uncluttered desgns it appears a bit dark.
Michael, according to the linked article, the designer and builder based it off his childhood memories of a mining town in Colorado…
While the article also stated the bed can be converted into a sitting area…
Definitely a winner. Add another 200 sq ft and you could have a nice “living” room as well as some kind of separation between the bedroom area and the rest of the house.
Love it, no ladder. Beautiful bathroom and love the rustic look.
Rusty, there is a ladder and it is on the underside of the loft… It’s like a attic ladder that you pull down with the access point for the loft being the rear side where there’s an opening just before the bathroom…
There also appears to be a trap door on the floor in front of the kitchen sink… could be some hidden storage…
That is nice. I could live there quite well. but then it is just me.
The dark colors make it feel small but the rustic spirit makes up for that.
I know a lady in China who is very small in stature but when ever I think of her she feels large before of her spirit. So I suppose a place like this would feel about the same to me. Small in size, large in spirit.
Interesting use of woods. Not sure I would sleep well with those ram heads looking at me all night.
Really cozy Dan, really love the little heating stove and great bathroom. I think for me that a raised living area with a full pull out bed under would give space for company. The cost is too much for me if I was ready for Tiny House living though. Even so, the feeling I get is warm just looking at it.

Interesting mis-mash of design, finishes, and materials. There is a lot going on in this one, but it does make some sense. It kind of reminds me of steam-punk, in a good way.
