Marsha’s My Darling Tiny House on Wheels

I bought a 14′ trailer, but because of poor construction, had to build a 10′ long house instead which meant really changing the plans, but now that I have it, I absolutely love it.

It is built mostly from scraps, bargains, and recycled materials including old 100 year old stable boards from which I pulled a gallon bucket full of old rusty nails.

The boards were used for the outside and inside of the home and add a very warm rustic feel against which I put a lot of white trim and furniture. There is a composting toilet.

I worked on the house for 2 years and I lived in it for 6 months and sold it so I could build one that I’d be able to pull with my car (The Nest Tiny House). I even built an off grid solar generator for some power, so now I sleep with a fan pulling in wonderful cool air through the windows. It’s great!

I lived in it for 6 months, but had to sell it because my car would not pull it. So I built another one called “The Nest”, a tiny 6’x6′ camper with a storage loft.

I lived in this one for 7 months, then because I was making plans to work in AZ in a contract position, and would be going back and forth from AZ to NC so much, I sold that tiny house and bought a tiny bus. And I love it!

Update: Now I’m Living in a School Bus that I’ve Converted into a Tiny Cottage on Wheels

Too cute. It really is the details that make a bus…etc. a home. Best wishes on your new adventure!

What a beautifully executed little home! Marsha is one of the best designers I’ve seen and she is not bad at carpentry either.

I have followed Marsha in her tiny homes for a while now. Loved the little red bus!!!!! Think I would love Marsha, too. If Marsha or someone who knows her could share information about her I am extremely interested in her background, age, family? Is she a really “grounded ” dreamer who simply sets her mind to something i.e., building, (without any training), or is this acquired expertise?

What type of government contract work does she do? Does she divide her time between AZ and NC only or does she travel?

I have so many questions. Last for now is has she considered writing a book or offering classes of her experience?
