Couple’s Wandering on Wheels Tiny Home

This is one couple’s wonderful “Wandering on Wheels” tiny home.

Outside, you’ll notice two-tone wooden siding that encapsulates this THOW. It’s a fifth-wheel design that allows for a partially lofted sleeping area. Twin french doors lead from the outside in.

When you go inside, you’ll find unlike the dark wood on the exterior, the panels on the walls and ceilings are a beautiful cream color which makes the tiny space look open and inviting. Up above some under-the-bed storage is the “bedroom” which has no wall, but a few steps that lead to a queen-sized bed. A couch sits in the living room which flows into the kitchen. There you’ll find floating shelves that allow for open storage of dishware. The bathroom sits at the very end of the house and includes a very nifty corrugated metal shower with a pebble floor.

This is one of the best layouts I’ve seen. Just about perfect. Good work, great detail. Wow!

Beautifully designed with lots of storage and an actual living area.

Love the house. One thing I don’t understand though is why people have open shelves if they plan on traveling with their THOW. Imagine all the packing one would have to do before starting out.

Probably they like to spend a lot of time of packing. I think its more a design issue than a practical one.

For the piddly few things on those shelves you can just pack them in the sink, padded with some towels or actual dish protectors. A plastic tote for the overflow, only takes a couple of minutes and you’re done.

As an experience packer, I can pack a whole full size kitchen of dishes (set of 12) in about an 1 hour, those few dishes about 6-8 minutes.
Buy a few large rolls of BUBBLE Wrap packing material.
Start to roll it out put a plate on it and wrap up around the bottom, fold over the Bubble Wrap, set the next plate on it, etc, fold back over & place the next plate, etc. When all plates are done cut the Bubble Wrap. Line a box with Bubble Wrap, pick up and set the plates in a bankers box. Label the box. Use this same Z pattern with all dishes/cups/saucers.
When it comes to dressers – tale the drawers out, place folded towels behind the drawers (it should fit) and underneath the bottom drawer (if possible). Put the drawers in & over, over, & over stuff the drawers, then use SHRINK Wrap and wrap up the dresser like a present. This way nothing will fall out, be warned it will be Heavy!

You would have to pack regardless because the dishes wouldn’t stay in closed cabinets.

          Hi Porcsha,
My husband and I have a TH and travel. Our dishes do stay in the cabinets. But we have them in wicker or rubber storage containers. Our doors stay closed because they have drawer latches, “RV H241.”
In the pictures it seems this TH does not have drawer latches.

That’s a big sweet looking rig. I wonder what the actual size/weight specs are. I noticed it has dual tandem axles so probably a minimum of 10K per axle. I think you would need at least a 1 ton dually to pull it.
Doesn’t look like it has been in service yet. Very nice layout though.

Trailer size, any specs would be helpful? Where’s ‘the john’ – RV type or composting?

I didn’t see a heat source. Nice layout. How much space is behind the sliding doors under the bed? Is that the closet space? How long is the drawer under the counter cabinets? I’ve heard that those kind of washer/dryer units together take HOURS, like at least 3-4 hours to complete one cycle. I would much rather give up some of the bathroom counter space and get a set that stacks. I would love to see more cabinets for the kitchen and more windows throughout. Thank you for sharing this one with us. I do see that there are 4 tires on each axle. That should help with the weight of the TH. Have fun you two.

How much space – look at the top step, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) lists the minimum tread size as 11″ so I would guess between 18-24′” deep?
I also wondered about the closet. Is it in the kitchen area behind those two sliding doors or is it under the staircase?
      Love the shower!

Brandi, I meant to hit reply (using my phone), and hit report comment instead. I apologize.
I liked your comments because if you consider rving, then you become familiar with many amenities and their drawbacks. They may look good, but don’t always function as hoped.
I’d like to know the weight of this “tiny home on wheels” as well as hitch weight, altho I noticed their hitch is wider than most commercial 5th wheels. I wonder if the truck they are using is capable, although I doubt it. I’m sure their home weighs more than many 5th wheels. I’m guessing closer to 20k lbs unloaded. Considering truck and camper, if it’s not weighty, I’d consider building my own as well.

I agree that this is the BEST THOW I’ve EVER seen! My husband may actually like this so we can get this in the future. He hates, no loathes THOWs because they are so cramped, have ladders, small sinks, small bathrooms and small appliances. Nothing about this THOW feels tiny. I love it and will bookmark this! This home is great for seniors which is when we will be in a market for a THOW. Thanks so much for sharing! Oh, and by the way, when the couple decides to have children they will sell this THOW in a minute!

Great ideas on packing. Have used them all at one time or another but thanks for reminding me. Only problem I have is when travelling around the country, you don’t want to have to pack and unpack constantly just to make lunch or supper. Some well designed storage would save a lot of time and frustration. Not sure why people don’t design it in the beginning. Maybe I just do more travelling than the average person. I can be up and gone within half an hour and that includes walking animals, checks, and cleaning everything. Have used the sink on many ocassions also b0ut for awkward items

I love reading the comments (even the snarky ones) but have never left my own comment. Still, I think this is the best layout I’ve seen that seems really livable for a person with physical limitations. I’m impressed. My question is: Where’s the fridge? I’ve looked at all the other pictures on Instagram . . . and, I still can’t figure it out. Can someone help?

Fridge space is in photo #7 behind the lucite chair. The space is empty in the photo, but filled on instagram with what looks like a 30″ stainless steel built-in with bottom freezer and handles on left side.

Loads of charm – and a laundry and dog house? It’s perfect. Oops – where is the oven? I take it there’s a fridge up front somewhere.

Thanks for sharing – this is really pretty.

I have seen many ask the Sq ft but have not seen an answer anywhere. I also would like more information on how the came up with the layout and who the builder is.
    Thank you
