Video: 280 Sq. Ft. THOW with Add-On Grill Station

Jared and Vanessa share a mutual love of food and the outdoors. While Vanessa cooks up fresh meals with her prized gadgets, Jared has accumulated a ton of survival gear through his work with the military. They both love to grill and grow their own herbs and produce. They’ve asked John and Zack to help them pare down to the essentials and build them a house on wheels that has everything they need to survive.

First I want to say Alex that I look forward to your posts everyday. I love seeing all the wonderful tiny homes, like this one. This post and shows like Tiny House Nation have given me many great ideas for my home. I have a smaller home 1000 sq. ft. and I use to think it was way too small. Now I think it’s huge and maybe in the future I might go smaller when I’m ready to retire and move away from the city. Again thank you for showing all these wonderful homes.

Love that grilling station! You could use the same concept for a workshop or gardening centre or whatever.

I live in a very difficult climate. Tropical heat and humidity in the summer, and Arctic cold in the winter. Needless to say this means owning a lot of “stuff”. Summer tires and winter tires. Summer clothing and winter clothing. Snow shovels and lawn mowers! Its a nuisance and its expensive. I love the idea of living small, but I would need a lot of storage space in this climate. I’d love to see some ideas for this problem! Thanks, Terry

Have you thought about using a storage shed — most RV Parks etc. do allow them.

      Terry,
This prepper rig looks mobile, so I bet they can choose to follow the weather == go north in winter, go more north in summer. Did I get that right?

And I suppose they can also visit the nearest riots. Rioters generally stick to the neighborhood near their homes, so for a good riot, these folks have to go to them. I’m pretty sure that’s right.

And after an earthquake or tsunami, they can go visit the wreckage.

Wildfires, droughts, noisy neighbors, rancid reeking bumblebrats. With a THOW, juicy entertainment is just a few miles away. Hours. Of. Entertainment.

Tons of fun. A THOW has so many advantages.

Interior kitchen against an end wall. Liveable and usable. Everybody here in the office are cooks, and sooner or later, everybody has to eat. Dual food prep areas. Multiple thumbs up.

WOW! Nice! Love the storage under the sofa for shoes. Yup! I like it, but not the loft! Sorry!

Living here in Florida backyard grilling is just a second nature thing.. I mean it is just what a real Floridian does.. I know from my life experiences the thing I always sad I would build is a kitchen out side the house, either it be in a garage, carport or even a Florida room, or an out building where you can cook, and not have to lower the thermostat in order to compensate for the heat coming from cooking… And not only that every time you start cooking someone will say hay what ya got on, and the next thing you know you have some good friends bring over something and we all get together with out occasion and have a good meal and great company….!
