The tiny house is in Brazil. I, Ilone, am from here and Jason, my husband, is writing his PhD dissertation on Brazilian telenovelas. We came to live here for a year so he can focus on his writing and research. After that we plan on moving back to the USA and using this house as a vacation home. All the pictures are of the house and its surroundings. We are out in the country, 30 minutes from the border with Uruguay and the nearest airport is 5 hours away. Most of what is in the house was either (like the blue cabinet) rescued out of my grandpa’s shed, or purchased at a local salvage yard or at the thrift store I used to manage in L.A. Our tiny house is 160 square feet, with a sleeping loft, attached bathroom, and front porch.

Our big thanks to Ilone for sharing!

Very nice and in touch with nature. I love the fact that you add the special artifacts and still have room. You have given your home the touch in so many ways. I thank you.

Hey, it has a closet! With lots of clothes in it! I love this tiny house. It looks cozy, and like it is lived in. So many of them look so sterile to me. I am a maximalist living in a very small (450 sq. ft.) backyard cottage, and I have got to have my stuff. It looks like whoever lives here likes to cook, too. Awesome house!

This is a darling little house. My favorite things about it are: location, closet space, windows for a headboard, and the cupboard for the dishes. The kitchen is a bit too cluttered for my taste though. I had to laugh when I saw the Texas license plate/tag used as a light fixture.
I wouldn’t have expected that in Brazil.

Yeah…my husband is from Kansas and half of our time we live in California…so we have a few american things in our house =) One of my fruit crates is from Napa Valley and the other one from LaVerne (LA) where we live when we are in the USA . I had not looked at Tiny houses since I finished building mine…so tonight I stumbled upon my house as I did a search. It’s been fun to read comments about it.

Where can I get the plans on how to build this tiny house

Unfortunately I don’t really have specific plans. We sort of decided to put the doors and windows in as we went. It is 8 feet wide and 20 feet long. The bathroom is attached separately. It is 1.5 meters by 2. Pretty small but big enough. I guess bigger then most tiny house bathrooms.

This is a cute little house with fun things used throughout. They certainly have a lot within a small space and all pretty functional. I like what you did with it and the fact that you used salvaged materials to do it including the furnishings within. I hope you have a wonderful time and this tiny home will certainly make a great future vacation place.

If I lived there I would never want to leave. I love the look and the feel of not just the house but the surrounding area. And running water in the house way out there is the best! I don’t have enough room to write about all the wonderful little things that I love about this little home. (not just a house)

No, I don’t want to leave either. =) Thanks for your positive comments about our home. We love it too and it won’t be easy to leave in a few weeks.
