This couple couldn’t pass up the opportunity to buy an old caboose with the intention of restoring it into a tiny home when they got the chance.
So they bought it. And right now they’re planning to renovate it and turn it into a restored tiny home. They plan on using it for vacations. Since they’ve renovated homes before, they don’t seem to be intimidated by the project at all.

That looks like a fun project.
So crazy how things come full circle. My mom’s family lived in 3 or 4 connected caboose/passenger cars when she was growing up. My grandparents were both from Mexico and my grandpa worked for the railroad. They raised 13 children in that house. My grandma moved into town when my grandfather died and the property became known as the old house. We would spend our fourth of July and alot of summer vacations there, and had many family reunions there. Shortly after my grandma died the semi-rural neighborhood was leveled for a hospital. One of the train cars was bought by someone who restored it to it’s original condition and it’s now on display next to the rail-yard. This summer we will have the first family reunion in a long time and it will be hosted at the restored rail car site. The passenger car, turned living space, and restored again 50 years later to a passenger car! Anyway, this story brought back some memories! Thanks
I absolutely loved your story. Thank you for sharing it. A part of your history is living on. The fact that someone recognized the historical importance of this piece restores my faith in mankind. In a world where people love to tear things down it is nice to see something being rebuilt.
