This is the story of how a couple took a box truck and turned it into their very own DIY tiny house. I guess you can also just call it a house truck, right?

In the video tour and interview below you’ll get to not only see their entire tiny home but you’ll also get a peek into what it’s like to live simply in a custom built house truck.

When this video was made they’d been living in it for about six months while traveling on the road. Would you ever live tiny in a house truck? Let us know in the comments. And either way please enjoy, learn more, and re-share below. Thank you!

Good simple idea. But video was more about their lifestyles than about the living space. Would have liked to see more about things such as how the porch awning and deck work, where they stored things. was there a refrigerator.

It’s very warm, peaceful and tiny. I commend this couple, knowing that this would be the ultimate challenge of tiny living for me. It’s really beautiful.

This reminds me of a posting a long time ago about a small, white, box truck that had been converted by a Traveler (Gypsy) in England. It had everything including a front door with night lights and a tailgate that came up to cover the whole front of their tiny house. I really love these when they are this well done. Love the awning and the “porch” that goes with this build. Some people are just so wonderfully creative. 😀

This video is so cool. No home depot feel to this little home, very rustic and warm on the inside. Yes, I could do that with no hesitation and in fact, have come close to it the way I’ve lived for the past 11 years. I seriously need to write my story and post pics of my little bus. I keep threatening to but haven’t.

Really well done tiny space. Can’t believe they fit all that they did in there. Bathroom for me, but glad they are fine with it. Well done!

What type and brand wood/heating stove is featured here? I would love to find out. Googled rocket stove, bio mass stove… Anyone know the answer? Great lifestyle.

While it was nice to see the cooking by candlelight, pottery on the windowsills and hear about downsizing’s effect on the relationship, I would have liked to see more of the basics—kitchen (stove, fridge, bathroom (if they have one), plumbing, electrical, non-candle lighting, mechanicals,HVAC, etc. With what I could see, I noticed a spice rack on the wall that was very well organized.

Very interesting, however, even in my 17 foot camper van I have a quasi bathroom — I could see using something like this for weekend camping, but not for long term living. I think they did a good job on what they did and it works for them — I have been to New Zealand and this works better there than it would here as there are not an over abundance of large towns and many people do live this way. I think I would at least go with a 20 foot long box and have a space for a toilet and shower at least.

Your questions at the end are absolutely the most important part of this presentation! I am glad Wayne and Anita took the leap to be happy!!!
