Couple Downsize from Living in a Motorhome to Van Dwelling

This post contains affiliate links.

When you hear of downsizing, you likely picture people leave large houses for smaller ones. But this couple went all-out and downsized from a motorhome to a Ford van.

The video below shows the motorhome that they spent a Canadian winter living in that used solar panels and batteries for power and had no running water. They used the rock climbing gym shower and washed dishes with a small water tank inside the house. It was a standard motorhome with a dinette, kitchen, and sleeping area.

They converted their new van into a home by stripping it of its seats and building a bed with storage underneath and a small table for a little cook top. Doing so allowed them to spend a summer travelling and spending nothing on heat. Watch the whole video and see how they’re doing it!

Well, that was a lot of non-information. In one shot the van bed looks like it is set up sideways, another lengthwise. For me, it just goes down hill from that. I am really not interested in ‘what’ they are doing, what IS of interest to me is how, and I just am not getting the how from this.

There’s no way I could or would spend my life having to depend on using someone else’s bathrooms.
