They converted an old school bus into their rolling tiny home and having been living in it for 5+ years!

This is the story of a young couple who bought a 1993 Ford School Bus and turned it into their rolling tiny home. And for the last 5+ years, they have been living and traveling out of it!

During the conversion, they decided to keep all the windows to have the maximum amount of sunlight in the bus. There are wood floors and wainscoting throughout the bus giving it a bright and open feel. So in the living area, there is plenty of lounging space and white Christmas lights for evening lighting. Very cool! The kitchenette has a stove, microwave, and small refrigerator plus plenty of cabinets. In the bathroom, there is an RV size shower and toilet. I love the pebble stone floor in the bathroom. The bedroom is at the rear of the bus. They left the exit door functioning so they can open it up during the day to enjoy nature wherever they may be at the time. Pretty cool, right? I’ve seen this before and really like it. It is well laid out, kept light and bright, and looks comfortable. I especially like how you framed small pictures so that you do have some art work. You have room to store what you need and even room for books. This is a home.

I thought this one looked familiar…much more polished than the last time we saw it, if I’m remembering right.

Nice layout, and the white finish really gives it an open, airy feeling and makes the best use of all the light from those windows. Looks like quite a comfortable home!

I’d like to know what they do for a living. I am always curious on how young people live these lifestyles, as I would like to retire early and join the party! Great bus transformation!!

      Hi Kat,
Great question… I always wondered the same myself. I’ve found that the best way to earn money to maintain a “Free” lifestyle such as this is to have residual income— it gives you total location and financial freedom. I’ve transitioned to working for health and wellness company where I now have time and financial freedom — I help others do the same. Its been life-changing—my dreams of living anywhere and living on the road are possible. I also have friends who travel and have their own online-based businesses or are freelancers- writers, coaches, bloggers, web designers– there are so many entrepreneurial options. Happy to connect if you would like to learn more.

Just curious how much the gas is for a bus this size? Miles per gallon?
