From Aaron:

This 20′ x 8.5′ Tiny home sits on a FinishLine Dual Axle Trailer that holds up to 9,900lbs. The entire home is built to code and was built to high quality standards. It was intended for myself as a young bachelor but my new wife prefers we live in town.

The house runs entirely on solar (lights, outlets, water pump) and Propane Gas (fridge, heater, water heater and stove). 3 Solar panels run to a 1000 watt inverter and 2 large marine batteries that power the house with more than enough energy. Has an external plug in for parks and higher watt appliances if desired.

The house has a dual tub sink in the kitchen and a full sized 36″x36″ shower that is pumped from a 35 gallon water tank. It all then runs to a 40 gallon grey water tank that can be drained from the underside of the house.

  • 234 sq. ft.
  • Loft – 64sq. ft.
  • Bathroom -24 sq. ft.
  • Kitchen – 68 sq. ft.
  • Living room – 60 sq. ft.
  • INCLUDED APPLIANCES
  • Propane Refrigerator and Freezer
  • Propane Heater
  • 6 Gallon Water Heater
  • Inline Water Pump
  • Completed Shower and Sink
  • Completed Solar Package (left room for upgrades if desired)STORY
Owner built as a fun project and a personal dwelling for himself. Once he got married and moved to the city he had to sell. So it has never been used and entirely new. There are a few things that would need completing based on the new owners preferences. Due to the few loose ends that would need tied up and the timeline the seller is hoping for, he is open to taking offers much lower than the fair market price. He is asking $25,000 but is a motivated seller and open to any offers.

His new wife wants to live in town. Boy, does that sound familiar:
“I love you, you are perfect. But, you need to change.”

    I’ll bet a nickel he doesn’t change.
I’ll bet another nickel she changes all over the place.

    Ah, young bachelors in love!

    Such a big mistake.
Son, listen to somebody that’s “Been-there,Done-that”…
A newlywed couple just starting out typically has very limited funds, has not had the chance to see much of the world yet, and probably doesn’t know each other as well as you’d think.
By starting out in a tiny house, you have the opportunity to actually fix all three of those things!
1: You will own your home, not pay rent towards something you’ll never own. Your utilities and other costs will be far less in a tiny home, leaving much more money to put into savings or spend on the things you really need…like perhaps your own property to park it on & later build a house on.
2: You can tow it to a new location whenever you wish… Work in a city & if you don’t like it, tow it to another. See the country… You will probably find that there are many wonderful places to live that you never even thought about.
3: Nothing will be faster to get to know every detail about each other than living in a small space. You will both have to learn how to compromise, handle challenges together, and to work as a team together. This can be hard, I know… but the rewards are that your partner can become the best friend you’ve ever had.

I started out in a 23′ travel trailer that my partner and myself lived in for 3 years (with an 80lb Black Lab too…). We traveled together thru 42 states in that 3 years.
We’ve now been together 20yrs… and he’s still my best friend.
In the years we’ve been together, we have owned several homes, but our hearts remained in the RV lifestyle… We now own a 36′ bumper pull travel trailer that we stay in a few months at a time.

I like the look of the inside, But I only saw 3 windows. 2 which are loft windows and one tiny one next to the kitchen sink.. Is that all there is ? Just asking…

      Dominick,

Oh, I’m sure those extra windows are already on the way [nods knowingly]. Give her time! She just got him ‘hitched’ (a THOW joke).

The poor kid designed this, engineered it, put electric outlets in the perfect spot for his needs. His dream, and now, it’s for sale.

I could be wrong, I could be way out on a limb here, but I suspect this post might have a lesson for all of us.

Another great find for $25,000.00… You should find one like this every day, for 25K , but the building industry is full of thieves , and are taking advantage of a growing trend and a market that has been overlooked for a long time… Now that it has been popularized, builders are taking advantage of it, and are charging outrageous prices for them.. It is only a few like this builder that still have morals and are not gauging the public with those outrageous prices that we have been seeing a lot of in this industry, and should be glad to find them still….

Everyday? Nah. No such luck. This is a one-time deal. His former girlfriend had something to do with the price.

From the looks of it, value exceeds price. Somebody, snag it quick!

    !!!RANT WARNING!
    !!!BUTTONS and TRIGGERS PUSHED!

Wow. Several commenters here echo our thoughts.

Without hearing the particulars, we see a substantial difference in needs/values of these two individuals now known as husband and wife.

He seemed content in a pasture with maybe a shop or barn == his cave == to do those ever-necessary dude activities known as ‘nothing’ and ‘not much’. A lawnchair to watch the stars. Drinking from the well. Self-maintained, self-reliant. Plinking crows out of the garden with the BB gun. Feeding the piglets, skinning a goat for the chili cook-off. Working hard as a decent neighbor, minding his own business and lending a hand before it is required.

On this scale, she seems less content.

We discussed this around the office for a couple days, and based on only a short blurb at the beginning of this post, we see these two individuals as worlds apart. How does that build connection and continuity?

Maybe she has a great business in town, and requires a shorter commute for those long hours. We get it.

Maybe the transition involves a handicap or extended recovery. We get it.

Not everybody thinks like us. Not everybody likes living in an orchard, past the end of a dead-end gravel road. Not everybody wants to travel the arctic in a sailboat, on a funky BMW tractor-cycle through Africa, on a mule across the backcountry. For this, we are grateful.

    [Attempted segue ahead]

(Presuming a two-person M/F coupling (less common in some places (such as ‘our neck of the woods’))) If children are now or coming, which of these two is the home-school teacher? We hope it is the half with the vision, the hands-on skills and experience, the feral tendencies. And we hope the family transitions back to a NON-CITY homestead before they are irreparably damaged. Because feral children are vastly more resilient, vastly more likely to prevail during and after these hard times, and vastly more likely to mentor productive skills.

Shared values. Shared culture. Shared heritage. Shared history. Toilet paper over or under. Build on solid foundations… this fellow shows he knows a little something about that. We hope the bride is more than a nice face and a hard body, we hope their relationship is deeper than… deep.

    [Another segue]

And we cannot begin to imagine the men of our tribes == fathers, brothers, uncles, granpas, squeezes and SOs and FWB, adopted blood and water == leaving a rural setting to exist is some city. If their women suggested such a preposterousity == they would never because of shared values == our men would show them the door.

And we love them for it!

Wow, a young bachelor giving up the bachelor lifestyle for the woman he loves….how often does that happen (smh). The fact that you could write that long of a post on somebody that you know absolutely nothing about speaks volumes…and that’s without actually reading the post.

For the price it’s being for sale, too bad there isn’t any more windows in it. Still well done!
Anyways, I wouldn’t have said anything to this young couple, they’ve done the best they could and it probably didn’t work out for them. Since I haven’t read that this young couple asking for advice, I find too many people love sticking their noses in other people’s business and telling them how to run their lives. It’s commendable but still none of their business.

Nice layout ,reasonably priced. But from what I gather it only has 4 windows. It really needs at least one more window maybe 2 would be nice..

    Good day my Friend,

I am reaching out to you to see if you have any interest in helping us grow the Tiny House movement.

Let me introduce myself. I am Michael Buccino, with Micro Living, LLC. out of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I am the Director of Region 4 of the American Tiny House Association, which consists of Illinois, Kansas, Colorado, Missouri and Nebraska.

We are a non-profit organization with a mission to help municipalities make tiny living legal from zoning, to regulations to any other area that needs to be addressed. The organization started in 2015 and has been a resource for the tiny house community across the country. We are wanting to publish anything related to the tiny house movement throughout the country.

We are needing State Chapter leaders in NE. A state chapter leader

I came across your group on line and wondered if there is any interest in helping us continue to grow this movement.

Please feel free to email me back or call and we can discuss what is happening in your state.
