Australian Prefab Container Houses, Podd

This post contains affiliate links.

These Australian designed prefab container houses are called Podd by the makers. They are designed to meet coding requirements and have a modern design inside and out.

Their website says that they have an estimated 5 hour construction time, which is very impressive. They use hydraulic lifts to raise the roof to save time.

The design is being targeted to mining companies to help with employee moral!

The houses are made using shipping containers. The additional walls, ceilings, and floor structure are constructed using Austral exflam sandwich panel composite.

Check it out.

That is really nice look; especially since it has a nice shower and bathroom space. 🙂

That is one cool small house! Has everything I would need does make me wonder why people are often against container homes.

Right? This is a great example of what’s possible with a small container conversion. Thanks Matt!

That is a sweet little home. Makes one think about using containers for homes. Some have looked pretty dark, but this is light and bright. Love the bathroom space with decent sized shower and all. Living area looks cosy, one could feel at home here. Why does it seem that some of the best designs are coming from Britain and Australia? They are doing a great job of designing “homes” out of small spaces!!

Hey Kat good observation.. I’ve also noticed that most great container homes are in other countries. Not sure why but I agree that they’re doing great with it. Thanks again!

Wow I love it. I never build before so i’ll have to hire people just to combine two shipping containers if i need bigger space. I hope to get free labour for exchange in something lol. I’m thinking of going back to school when i’m well enough. I want to go to med school in south america or the Caribbean in a cold place lol so i should save money to build a home.
