There are many ways to travel the world, and this Australian couple is doing it in a sailboat.

Their ship is called “La Vagabonde” and is 43 feet long. On deck, they can steer and sunbathe, and down beneath deck, they have sitting area, a bedroom, and a kitchen. Two solar panels and a wind generator give them power, as well as the water maker on board so they can have fresh water while out at sea. Watch the video and hear about their amazing experiences battling mother nature and enjoying warm climates around the world.

Please enjoy, learn more, and re-share below. Thank you!

This is sort of picky, but it is a BOAT – not a SHIP. Boats are vessels that are small enough to fit on a Ship.

Micro, tiny, and small home designers and builders can learn many tricks by studying how interior space is used on boats. Cabinetry, storage techniques, hardware, and appliances are all located and selected for maximum space-efficiency, movement-security, and harsh weather durability.

Ben Lunt: You built your own schooner and spent 30 years sailing around in it??? Wow, my hats off to you!

Great lifestyle! Haven’t sailed the ocean much, but been on the Great Lakes a bit. While sailing through the Trent Severn system we met a couple with a baby who had just finished sailing around the world in a 30 foot sailboat and were on their way back to Cleveland to visit family. They had tiny living down pat and were facinating to talk to. Don’t know if I would want to on the ocean ( had a few scary times) but loved living on the boat. Boat designers are definitely masters at designing small living places and anyone hoping to build a tiny home should study the use of space in sailboat cabins.

43 feet is huge! We built a 30 footer, lived aboard for 2 years and sailed to Bora Bora and back.
