Did you know Abel Zyl of Zyl Vardos hosts an “Ask Zyl Live” series on YouTube every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. PST?

It’s true! If you’ve seen his homes, you’ll know Zyl is a master craftsman, so getting to pick his brain every week is a real treat. Last week he spent an hour answering questions like how to make your exterior siding last and how many tiny homes he’s built. He also discussed how to seal the bottom of your tiny house, why nails can be better than screws, and why he doesn’t use much steel in his builds. Bonus: See his farm! You get all that (and way more!) for completely free.

If you have a question for him for next week, head over here to post your questions in the comments. Be sure to subscribe to his channel so you don’t miss anything.

No doubt. about it, the man has a very artistic flair for building Vados and tiny houses….! His creations may some times be beyond the norm, but always quite livable, and from what I can see, comfortable….. And because they are one off’s I’m sure they come with very hefty price tags which I can understand.. It’s just that you are expected to pay more for a piece of livable art, rather then a tiny house…..

We are in the market to purchase an RV by June 2017 out of necessity YET – I prefer the look of tiny houses. Is there a program for financing for your Tiny House? What is the difference between the RV world and Tiny House? We plan to live in the tiny house and/or RV for a few months; then purchase a home to live in – and rent the smaller unit later on. Would love to seriously discuss the options/differences regarding long term use. Thank you for your reply!

Hi R.! You’ll need to get in touch with Zyl directly, because he doesn’t always see these here 🙂 [email protected]
