This is a 938 sq. ft. off grid beach cottage for sale that is only accessible by boat on Keewaydin Island in Southwest Florida. If you include the outdoor porch living space there’s a total living area of 1,238 sq. ft.

The artisan built cottage has been featured on Bob Vila and previously owned and occupied by Florida artist Paul Arsanault.

This cottage is nestled on 1.8 acres and has direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. The secluded cottage offers stunning waterfront views, beach frontage and a private boat dock!

As you arrive by boat you take a short walk up the broad walk to enter the cottage. You’ll notice a large screen enclosed porch that has a relaxing lounge area and built in bar. What a great spot to enjoy a tropical cocktail while gazing out over the beach, right?

Inside the cottage there is a spacious kitchen for cooking your catch of the day and a large dining area that opens up to the screened-in porch so you can enjoy the ocean breeze with no mosquitos while eating and relaxing. The bedroom also has views of the beach and also has large screened enclosed windows so you can feel as if you were sleeping right on the beach!

On Cay Caulker, Belize, you can buy ten of these for the same price, and they will personally deliver the lobster dinner to you daily!

Pretty. Looks peaceful. But 938sf is by no means small.

Anything under 1,000sf is considered small. Usually “tiny” is any sq. footage under 400. But these distinctions aren’t written in stone.

I may be in the minority on your mailing list, but I’ve realized I don’t want to live “tiny”–though I love the way every space is utilized in the tiny homes I see and I pick up lots of ideas. However, about 1000 square feet would work well for me and my herd of doggies, so I also appreciate seeing homes the size of this one, which also generate many ideas I can adapt to my situation. So thank you!

Well said, Genene! Happy to hear that you know what you want (even if it’s not tiny!). And although 1000 sq. ft. may seem “huge” compared to a 100 or 200 sq ft tiny house, it’s actually quite small relative to the average American home. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

How much would this place rent for for 1-2 weeks? It is quite spectacular! Also, how many does it sleep?
