I love this house! It is exactly what I have been looking for in a small retirement home in the country that I would like to have built. I wonder if it can be duplicated without having the original old structure. I am keeping these builders on my wish list.

I love it too! It’s awesome. Even though it’s pretty much one of a kind, I’m sure it can be somewhat duplicated to one’s own liking 🙂

I’m glad the gorgeous structure was saved, no matter who did the saving. The only thing I find a bit jarring is the pool. For some reason I’d much rather see a more natural looking pond type pool. I can see why you’d want the pool close to that great porch but I think it would be more visually appealing if the pool were in back. Must just be the traditionalist in me. Or pool envy.

Alex, I Love this Beautiful Home. God knows I wanna log cabin built in Prior Lake, Mn. close to my grand babies. I need to sell my home in Va. in order to do this. I can only do this if God is willing . I wanna bring Him closer to my family there. If its His will, I can do this . I’m told my home has to be right under 1000 sq. ft. Thats bigger than I want but on their land it has to be that way. I know someone out there has a piece of land all ready to hook up water & elect. I’ma hoping to find one of those before its to late. I’m already 68 & need help now. I love the sm. homes . Thank you alex & others for the work ya’ll are doing.

Hi Ssi, Sorry about that, Tiny House Talk, and ideas to help downsize and simplify ones life is one of my favorite sites. too, And being hi jacked was my fault. (not intentionally) but sometimes things do take a turn..For which I apologize…As you said . Enough said about these issues . that has seemed to take on a life of it’s own…

I frequent Europe often and the EU Socialist Experiment is crumbling. GREECE Is gone, IRELAND is in trouble, ITALY, SPAIN AND PORTUGAL are on the ropes. They have decimated thier Militaries to support the workshy and asylum seekers are paid more than pensioners. A fools paradise

No matter who did it, this “cabin” is breathtaking! I absolutely love it, however, I love this newsletter because it brings together those of us already living tiny, would like to live tiny, or just have an interest in it. Keyword here is “tiny”, which, no matter how beautiful this historic cabin is, it is not (by my standards) “tiny”. It seems that when we stick to our interests, that which brought us all together in the first place, we feel like a team, a movement and share so much in common.
Personally, I’d like to click on only anything less than 400 sq. ft. (Just my preference). I clicked on this because it seems that some are either losing focus of the original intent, or because there’s only so many legitimately tiny homes creating a link each day. I tend to believe the latter.
I love the newsletter, the movement, the people, the creative designs, and being a part of something unique, innovative and green.
So, this is great and all….but for me….show me the tiny!!!!

While this house doesn’t have a lot of sq footage, it is still a fairly large footprint. Indeed, it is too large to legally fit on my property and I have a standard lot for around here (Vancouver, BC). We have to have 10% side set back which means on a 33′ wide lot you can only go as wide as 26.5′. Nice home, but kinda large, as tiny homes go.

Remember, there are families who can’t all live in an itsy bitsy home. This is a very small home when several family members move in. You can still get ideas from larger homes. I even take ideas from mansions, whether it’s the layout or materials used or furnishings ; D

Has anyone out there visited the beautiful historic lodges in Glacier NP? This place looks like a miniature of that architecture.

    I think I’m in love………

    Gorgeous house!
And the above conversation is why I would never, ever want to be a part of a tiny house community on shared land. Not fond of the “who does what/ who gets what breaks” bickering. No thank you.

I love this house. I like the size. When living with someone, each needs some space. This house was built about 40 miles from where I live. I wish it was still here in Pa. And it would be for sale. I like tiny house but living with another person, some of them are to small for me. I would like a small home with two bedrooms and one and a half bath. I would like to have solar. I would like to stay around here but land cost way to much. The farmers are selling lots for big, big homes. To find a small house and fix it up would be great if you know how. I do not. I would have about $150,000. A nice amount of money but when land cost $70,000. to $ 95,000. $150,000. Does not go far. I have not given up on finding what I want. A house Ike this would be perfect

Beautiful wood everywhere; beautiful fireplace; Dutch door; claw-foot tub; stained-glass window; wonderful loft! My list of likes could go on and on. And that kitchen stove!! Beautiful home. Love rustic.
Alex, I want to thank you for having this website. I look at every tiny/small house you post. Upon retirement my husband and I sold our house and 85% of our belongings. Our ‘tiny home’ is a 37 foot fifth-wheel. We love living small and are gratified to see that so many others, do too. (Especially the young people – It took some of us older folks a long time to realize we didn’t need so much ‘stuff”!) I always look forward to Cahow’s comments and insight as well.

O.K.,, O.K., if some one has to live there, I’ll volunteer. Its an amazing home. Just lovely. The lay out is great. It would not be that difficult to have some one draw up plans, if they were not for sale, for these pictures, and have it built from new materials if old were not available in your area. The décor is drop dead gorgeous. Yes, I’ll take on for the team and live there

is the wood stove the only source of heat? what about ac in the summer? I’m
spoiled What about insulation and exterior window/doors, have they been updated for heat/ac loss. appearances are important but so is common sense and comfort.
