Love it! Great deck – perfect for a boil-up. Putting shutters on barn door sliders is a great way to ensure storm protection as well as security. Also really like the stove on the angle. Great job!

The sliders are a great idea. I’ll bet the winter storms are fierce. We’re looking at a Florida version for the next hurricane season, as opposed to sheets of plywood, which so far have caused more damage to the exterior than the storms. The scenery is unreal.

      Yeah, I noticed that too.
Interesting take on the idea of shutters.
Beautiful home and those last two shots are simply breath taking.

Now that we’ve seen beautiful Cape Breton in the summer, how about some pictures in January? Tx 🙂

Since we’re further round the Gulf of St. Lawrence, I’d say count on a good 20-ft plus of snow… truth is you either love an Atlantic Canada winter or you’ve moved south… given a choice between winter and deerfly season, I’ll take the snow.

Tx. I prefer winter as well. Is this a year-round rental?

        Thanks for the link Dean.
First, let me explain that I hate being cold. Really hate it.
Those colours in the sunrises? Whales? Enormous snowdrifts? Pretty icicles? Lots of walking trails?
Okay, now I want to go from the UK. Just to visit. In the winter as well as the summer.
Hope you are on commission from the Canadian tourist board. 🙂

LOL! I should be, eh?…I wonder if the Canadian Tourism Board would pay commission to a Yank for “spreading the word”….you know, with the exchange rate and all. =)

Maybe by going small in the midwest, someday I’ll be able to save enough money to have a tiny vacation home somewhere incredible like that. 🙂

If you find one place you want to vacation, that’s a great idea. I’ve found that Airbnb provides astonishing accommodations for extended vacations, and I’ve always had great experiences. My two favorite experiences were in situations where I stayed in an auxiliary suite of a large house. I liked the privacy, but also liked having the hosts nearby if I had questions about where to go, where to dine, etc.

Beautiful! Perfect simple living! Fabulous by the sea of course but would fit perfectly into any setting.

Can I move in and just stay? It looks as close to perfect it can be on this planet.
