300 Sq. Ft. 10′ x 30′ Tiny House Design

This is a 10′ wide by 30′ long 300 sq. ft. tiny house design with additional space in the loft.

One of my favorite features about it are that there’s a staircase (not a ladder) to the upstairs loft space.

And there’s enough room up there to have a king sized bed, too, which is great if you’re planning on sharing the space. Plus there’s an additional storage loft area behind the bed.

This tiny house has plans for a total of 1400 watts of solar panels and a 150 gallon grey water collection system. More features include:

  • A combo washer/dryer under the staircase.
  • A wood burning stove.
  • A tankless water heater.

And much more. Take the entire 3D tour below. Please enjoy, leave your thoughts in the comments, and re-share if you feel called to. Thanks!

What is the long narrow room low ceiling room off the end of the bed for? Child retreat?

  • William Charlebois December 15, 2014, 2:37 pm

This is amazing! It is the first tiny house I’ve seen that actually looks totally doable. Thanks for sharing!

  • Karen R December 15, 2014, 2:46 pm

    Great plan!!

  • Kathy December 15, 2014, 8:38 pm

Great plan! I love the stairs, the roomy loft bedroom, and all that loft space behind the bedroom. Nice kitchen too. Well planned use of only 300 sq ft! Love it a lot!

    Hello,
May I purchase a copy of the blueprints for this 10×30 house. This is exactly what I had in mind for a house barge. Please email me with your phone number and I will call you. Or email me and I will give you my number. I am very serious. Thank you Rachelle

I too love this design! are these blueprints for sale?? Also, what size trailer did you use for this?

    Thank you

  • stephen April 17, 2015, 4:21 pm

    Where can I get blueprints?

  • Gius April 28, 2015, 5:49 pm

Is this on wheels or not?

    • robin delaurie March 5, 2016, 7:03 pm

what size trailer is needed> where can the trailer be purchased,I have a 2002 30ft x8 dual axles could this be used?

  • barb May 9, 2015, 8:14 pm

Where is the hanging clothes storage, or even drawer storage for clothes?

    • Lera May 14, 2015, 10:13 am

There is a full closet under the stairs next to the fold down dining table. Also, there is a dresser at the top of the stairs. There is also the large storage space in the loft that you could probably store clothes in if you need to, or put the bed on a platform with under-dressers.

      • dave January 6, 2016, 9:33 pm

I love the house. Great pictures, video. I can’t understand why anyone would ask questions like where’s the closet? and why no drawers? when you can clearly see the closet under the stairs, and the dresser at the top of the stairs. Neat place for the laundry, too by the way! Well done!

Very nice loft area that would actually work for a senior citizen like me! The STANDUP AREA is priceless!

The 10 foot width adds so much flexibility to the floorplan, but I think much of it could still be adapted to a 7 1/2 foot width of a more mobile variety THOW.

    Great ideas!

    • Carole Martinez January 5, 2016, 4:45 pm

Is there a way for this to be on wheels? If so, I am so SOLD!

  • Carole D. May 10, 2015, 7:29 pm

Wow, just the right size for me. Do you actually have the plans. Or at least measurements of each room.
Is it on wheel or on a slab. I live in Canada where we have a lot of snow, so I would build it on a slab.

    Great job!

  • Lera May 14, 2015, 10:24 am

I love this plan! It has a washer/dryer, dishwasher, lots of storage, real couch, a bedroom you can stand up in, no ladder, solar power, water collection. He seems to have thought of everything. I really like the dining table that is connected to the kitchen counter, gives you more prep space when needed and seats plenty of people if you have guests, then folds down out of the way.
I want the blueprints too. 🙂 I checked his youtube channel and he said he is working on the plans, but has not completed them yet.
Also, the current design is for a slab build. it could be adapted to a thow but the ceiling height would have to be reduced about a foot and you would have to get special permits to move it because of the width. Personally, I would like it on a slab, but I know other people were asking about that so thought I would share the info I gathered.

I’d love to get the blueprint for this home. I live in Canada and it would be perfect for my land

  • Dan June 2, 2015, 3:31 am

I’d love to get the blueprint for this home. I live in Canada. Where can I find it. I looked on youtube and to find the internet site to buy the plans and nothing! Please help! It’s so nice!

  • Donna Marie June 24, 2015, 10:18 am

Nice design wondering though woyld an in-wall gas contemporary fireplace work instead of woodstove and still heat place? Not sure if there is one that might have remote control heat settings – but I would prefer…?
Also, how difficult is it to move this with brick fireplace, water storage system, & what needs to happen on interior to move it? What thpe of vehicle is needed to move? (Cost/mile??)
    Thanks!
    DM

Actually more storage than originally thought. The bathroom really has to be re-thought out regarding door position, relative to living room and dining room. You can see right in, not private. Would you want to exit the bathroom door, and walk through the house with a bucket load of …? Or, have an large swing window positioned beside the toilet that allows aeration, private exit to remove waste.

  • Sharon seiber September 8, 2015, 6:03 pm

Would like blue prints and price of home

  • Cate Reinert September 12, 2015, 12:40 pm

I would also like to know about cast and plans.

  • Wendy Taylor September 20, 2015, 4:08 pm

Not much storage for clothing. If we have any type of toilet not on a septic or sewer: which is highly likely if choosing the off-grid route, we are going to need to reverse the toilet and the shower position, so the toilet can be closest to a large swing window that will be installed in order to facilitate bucket transferral to the organic bed and quickly airing out the bathroom. (On one of the cutaway views there appears to be a door that serves to exit the house via the bathroom? What is that about?)

  • Alice Adams October 2, 2015, 11:32 pm

Is this on wheels? Like others I want to know if blueprints are available

  • Jan Price October 3, 2015, 11:39 am

Love the design. Like everyone else. I wonder what’s the cost?

  • Vicki drakes October 3, 2015, 1:37 pm

Please tell me how I Can buy the plans for this home. Can it be piped in to a cities sewer system. A possible builder in texas. Thank-you.

  • Marsha Cowan October 3, 2015, 2:35 pm

Whoa! Totally cool! Especially that loft design…soooo cool!

  • Nanny M October 4, 2015, 7:16 am

Wow. The most doable 300 sq foot house I’ve seen. So thoughtfully considered. All I would add is a railing by the bed. Feels so comfortable, not claustrophobic or over limited in any way.

  • Varenikje October 7, 2015, 1:14 am

I take it from the no response from Alex that there is no way to get any information about this house? Like the cost or floor plan or anything?

  • Che Vaughters December 18, 2015, 11:37 pm

Please tell me where I can get the blueprints for this design. I like this model design very much as it incorporates all the design details I cloud ask of.

  • Bargain Bill January 5, 2016, 9:16 am

Requests for floor plans and costs from many visitors date back 10+ months – – yet no response as of 1/5/16. What’s the story? I’m very interested in building 6 of these units on my property in the Bahamas.

  • CG Pollock January 5, 2016, 4:53 pm

Approximate cost to build & finish?

  • Eric January 5, 2016, 5:36 pm

What’s the deal with the 3 water bins? 1 Large bin would capture more water in the same cubic dimensions as the 3 small bins. Not particularly smart thinking there methinks. IMHO

  • Darrell Ping January 5, 2016, 6:31 pm

I asked the owner on his Youtube channel for the blueprints. No reply yet and its been a couple months. I doubt they will be released. Shame love this layout. I personally will prob do the hOMe plans for my TH.

  • Verna January 5, 2016, 10:17 pm

I would love information on getting plans as well…I live in Canada.

  • Dee Ripple January 6, 2016, 12:23 am

Love your design. Am looking for something like this for a place near a lake. Please advise when you have plans available and at what cost for the plans. Very well thought out!

  • Susan January 6, 2016, 7:42 am

Great floor plan…..I would also love the blueprints of
this home. I live in Canada and the winters can be cruel…
but this will seem very cozy.

  • Sarah January 6, 2016, 2:40 pm

How much to build it? Please keep me updated on this project, I would like to know how it goes if someone builds this. I like the design.

  • Carol Mitchem January 12, 2016, 4:26 am

I really enjoyed your video and multiple pictures of your Tiny House. I’m an inquiring mind and would love to purchase building plans, and would like to know if if you’ve calculated the cost of building this house? Please answer my questions through my submtted email. Thank you.

  • ed March 4, 2016, 12:53 am

love the design can I purchase the blue prints of this design

  • Gregg August 26, 2016, 11:57 am

How could I go about getting plans for something like this?

  • Bill August 26, 2016, 6:05 pm

This was first put up 10 months ago. It had many positive responses and questions – – none of which were answered. Why is this being promoted again when the crater doesn’t respond?
