Wow what an amazing home, love all the details and that Murphy bed ?? Brilliant …

I have to say, this is nearly perfect. The exterior has appeal and a welcoming mien. There’s a loft I can use for an office, and the bed on the lower level and, gasp, an actual closet. The Murphy bed blends in, so you can use the space for a number of things (crafts, pretending to exercise, etc). All I think I’d want is a bit more storage for the kitchen. The dining table confused me, though. I might be a bit dim, but it looks like the table is inset into the bed?

Vivian Smith, you got it right… You aren’t limited to just storing the bed away with a Murphy design these days.

It can have a bookshelf, a desk, and even turn into a couch.

This looks like they built it themselves but commercial Murphy Beds can have multiple functions.

I agree with Vivian. Nice!! Does the dining table fold down against the underside of the bed?? I does appear to be inset into the bed’s bottom.

This is a very practical layout, very livable and more like a home.
    Nicely done.

Now this is a tiny home I would consider living in! I agree a little more storage in the kitchen would be needed. The murphy bed area is such a great idea with the fold out table. I like the color scheme and the design details. Nice!

Check out the inside photos of one of the other homes this company makes. The bathroom floor is amazing! https://www.woodandheart.com/gallery/

This is the best I’ve ever seen. It needs a few adjustments but those can be done easily without upsetting the design.

this is one of the finest homes I have ever seen…the illusion of double entry doors expands the living area nicely…I would use the bedroom area as an office area with a fold down desk and monitor on the underside of the bed and be thrilled to have a little COFFEE NOOK area behind me…there is counter dining area or the possibility of a dining/coffee table dual purpose area…I do not see a washer/dryer or a dishwasher, lol…but i don’t need an oven, so just more storage area there would help.

By far the nicest home yet! The price is a little steep but beautiful!

Nice but I wonder if they just leave the porch where ever they were. doesn’t appear to fold up and they do not mention it in the article.

Hi Tom, I’ve designed the cedar deck and posts to be light weight and able to take down or set up in about 3 minutes. The deck folds in half and since I’ve notched the cedar posts just a few screws are needed to lock it all together.

Well, the door area is recessed… So it’ll be my guess that at least part of it does fold up… It looks like the little awning over the door at least will fold down and would then be flush with the rest of the exterior wall…

I can tell from the side photo of the patio that the deck is two pieces… So that either folds up as well or comes apart in small enough pieces to fit through the door… My guess is the latter… While the post and beams looks like they need to be take apart but the part that attaches to the house may be the only thing that actually needs to be unscrewed…

It does look like the porch is wider than the inset area. I think it would have to be disassebled and then reassembled. If you plan on moving around regularly, it wouldn’t fly. But I think most people stay in one place, for the most part. If not, it would be easy to make the adjustments to fold up and store inside. After all, depending on where you were going, you’d need to get inside to sleep, if nothing else.

love the murphy bed/table combo which would make a great desk area, the drapes for privacy for the bed are great……

This has so much potential for seniors. The advantage in using the Murphy bed is plain to see. Although even without it, we are downsizing here so if you forget the Queen size or King size bed the area can support a full size and give even more room. This floor plan on a 10′ wide would be pretty much the best midsize between Tiny Home and Park Model. I would use a wall saver double recliner in a 10′ wide with some over counter cabinets and micro/convection oven shelf. Do my usual full 12″ tall counter level awning window for light and ventilation.
Depending on the senior, most of us older folks will work just fine with the 8.5′ width as we neither see or hear as well as we used to and the advantage of less space to keep clean is a big plus. Having the loft for grandkids is a great touch but don’t expect a lot of use by those of us who are too crippled up for climbing.
So many options with this unit that dwelling on the structure basics is probably the best thing to cover here. I love the coffered ceiling and lighting. Slap on some Faux Castle Stone exterior panels and some fake Ivy and you have a perfect Normandy Castle.
The kitchen is a bit too minimalist for my tastes, but space lends itself to changes here. A window seat would work really well so only one or two chars needed for me. The IKEA farm sink option and cabinets could save a bundle in costs and still have the maximum function.
I never find ANY Design exactly to my tastes because I am always trying to improve function balanced by cost. This is REALLY Close if I do not get my half bath. As I age I find even when I downsize, I STILL have too much I don’t use. This gem could be the solution. As I am living ten miles away from the Builders I REALLY should stop by and cover a few cost-cutting and weight questions. Most Tiny Home builders don’t consider using Therma-Steel panels because after all, they are selling time and cutting 70% of the labor cost for framing and insulation time is not cost effective unless the volume of sales is there. The weight savings alone might change that aspect, combined with the less expensive Kitchen and flooring selections they would probably have to enlarge and extend their facility. And hire three times as many craftsmen…Again…The major problem with being a Design person….Never satisfied and always thinking…

Bill, I’m near him, too. Have thought about contacting Matt to see if he would design a unit with me, but I’m just too busy. You should go see him- and let us know how it goes! I think this is his third build on this site and they are all gorgeous.

OK everybody, back off……this one’s mine!! ;’) I LOVE it from that gorgeous oak floor to the unique angle of the roofline. I am also crazy about the multiple uses I can see in the murphy bed/table area. Sleeping, office, craft table, gaming, ample floor space for Zumba or dancing with …. well never mind who, and of course extra dining seating. I can’t believe you can actually seat a total of 6! Here’s my only change in use of this area – I would like to have a barn slider door(s) over the little bay area, so that I could have my hanging closet hidden in the same area as my bed. What a total luxury in a tiny home – hidden first floor bed AND closet. And listen, I am really nuts over those two sorta old fashioned looking kitchen hutches. I love that they are not so deep that they use up all the visible space in an otherwise narrow, high traffic area. They will accomodate lots of storage below and attractive dishes and collectables above. Great kitchen – plenty of usable counterspace with the L shaped peninnsula. Perfect size sink and fridge too, not too small, not too big. There’s only one more wish item for me to top off the perfect tiny home – a Japanese soak tub with a shower. And all of this heaven in only 28’. (Good thing this wasn’t Twitter! 140 characters wouldn’t have been enough)
