Earthsong-Eco-Community-Tiny-House-01

I like knowing that small houses are gaining momentum in other parts of the world and this tiny house that has just been accepted into this eco-friendly and sustainable community in New Zealand proves that the demand for smaller homes is continuing to grow.

In this post, Bryce Langston and Melissa Nickerson take us on a journey to a place called EarthSong Eco-Neighbourhood in Auckland, New Zealand where this woman is living the simple life in her mortgage-free 121 square foot tiny house on wheels.

If you’ve ever asked yourself, “Where would I put a mobile micro-home if I did build or buy one?” this video is one way to answer that question.

As you’ll see below, this community is full of sustainably designed homes and micro homesteads with permaculture and farming in place.

And now it is home to one of New Zealand’s first trailer tiny homes with a seemingly wonderfully happy owner/dweller. The micro home was built using Tumbleweed’s plans.

Eco-Community Accepts It’s First Tiny House

Isn’t it great to see the idea catching on around the world?

I find it encouraging and hope to continue seeing it gain momentum.

This way we can begin seeing tiny living communities being developed and legal tiny living lots being offered in areas where they are desired by people like us.

Enjoy the rest of the photo tour and video tour of this home and the Eco-Community it’s in below:

deeks-transforming-micro-aframe-cabin-003

Had to show you Deek’s recent $1200 DIY A-frame micro cabin that transforms. I think it’s an amazing design and he had Joe Everson of Tiny Happy Homes (formerly Tennessee Tiny Homes) build it for him.

Also soon if you’re interested you’ll be able to get the design directly from Deek over at his siteRelaxShacks.com. The coolest part about this A-frame cabin is that it’s really tiny, cheap to build, but it also transforms (in good weather).

family-mortgage-free-eco-cabin-001

In this post you’re going to get to see how this man built a family bunkhouse tiny cabin for he and his growing family.

I think it’s great when when friends and family get together to build.

This way they don’t have to go to the bank to go into debt or  have to hire expensive contractors.

This is how to build a tiny house or small cabin mortgage-free thanks to friends, family, co-workers and you.

See how this man built his very own family cabin over the course of three summers.

man-converts-tool-shed-into-mortgage-free-micro-cabin-001

I had to share this story of a man who converted an old tool shed into a beautiful micro cabin for he and his fiance so they can live mortgage-free.

He took an 8′ x 12′ tool shed and added insulation, windows, sheet rock and electricity.

Since he and his fiance work a lot they really just use a 96 sq. ft. minimalist cabin to rest and sleep at night.
