Urban House Boat

I ran into this really cool urban house boat the other day. Here’s a little bit about the company right from their website…

Urban Houseboats Inc. (UHI) was created in 2007 by its partnering founders – Sean Conner and Rodney Hanscomb. Their desire was to design and manufacture a live aboard vessel that provided high end styling and mobility, with the feeling of home. UHI is now filling a void in a market that is not being met by any other manufacturer in the boating or housing industry.

As opposed to floating homes, Urban Houseboats are motorized and mobile. They are an alternative in the liveaboard market (floating homes and yachts) which can be limiting in the number available, high upfront prices, and ongoing cost of maintenance. Urban Houseboats provide the same rich lifestyle and million dollar views, but at a greatly reduced cost.

Priced in the same range as a similarly sized metropolitan area condominium, an Urban Houseboat gives you so much more. On the water living, cutting edge styling inside and out, mobility and simplicity. No other dwelling provides the same entertainment possibilities! Imagine floating past the best views your area has to offer in the comfort of your own home!

Beautiful, beautiful structures, but I believe I could simplify my life without spending $300,000, more or less, or more for one of these homes.

Yeah that’s really pricey, thanks Regina

Really beautiful, but the price is way out of my reach. Not sure I want “urban” but the space looks well put to use, and it would certainly be nice to be able to cruise around in one of these. I like the new one in developement too. Can’t wait to see what it will look like when done.

I saw this house on Extreme House Hunters last week. It’s pretty cool, but the guy looking had his high maintainence girlfriend with him and she “pooh-poohed it” because it didn’t have enought room for her clothes. I thought it was pretty cool, it’s on Lake Union in Seattle. I love that place!
