1949 Vintage Travel Trailer For Sale

  The more I look at this the more I love it. Be sure to click on the Tuscon Craigslist site as there are many more photos that answered a few of my questions. I have always thought I would love to have a teardrop, but after looking at this vintage trailer I think this is my dream. What a joy to travel or go camping and have this trailer to settle into when you arrive.

    I have lived in a similar trailer with similar features. I currently have a homemade 4×8 teardrop type trailer which is a cozy ‘bed in a box’. I prefer the vintage trailer to stand up and stretch over the ‘on my knees’ teardrop. Everyone has their ideas and preferences. Until you try something out, it is difficult to know what is right for you. Enjoy your selection.

  A true canned ham. When I was a kid I camped all summer in a trailer very similar. Three of us camped each year and enjoyed every minute. I wish I could find a camp trailer just like this closer to home. Simple is better for sure.

  This is a good price. I know, I have restored 4 trailers in the past 5 years. It is always a surprise how much it costs to bring these old beauties back to life. My favorite is a 1969 14′ Rolls Royal that had one foot in the scrap yard when we rescued it. Now it is a very functional and comfortable Modernized Vintage.

    Richard, My husband and I just bought a Rolls Royal in similar condition. Would love to hear more from you about your renovation. Not finding very much info on Rolls Royal models and we’re kind of flying by the seat of our pants!

    Richard – I have the same trailer but I am having a very hard time finding information about it. I would like to restore it (1969 Rolls Royal) but don’t know where to start. Would you be able to provide some information resources for me?

  Hello everyone:

  I AM the Michael at Craigslist mentioned above. I owned this travel trailer for too short a time and have really missed her. Her name is “Prudence” and I got the trailer from a man in Safford AZ.. She came willingly to near Tucson, where MY attempt at restoration began; old vinyl floor taken out and replaced with the laminate plank seen here. Several other things done to update the interi0r but not so much as to take the “Charm”ing attributes away. (That’s a Brass depiction of the earth there on the front. RE-engraved by a local jeweler.)

  Resting near the little trailer one weekend, I decided she must have a “new look” outside so I began taping the outlines of the exterior graphics. I didn’t use any fancy approach to the paint job here; … as a matter of fact, the whole job took only about a week The paint is actually a combination of a couple colors leftover from painting my home.

  The is exterior latex house paint and I just used the same roller I had for our house. It still looks pretty good I think.

  Sure would like to see Prudence again. As far as I can find out she is a TRUE “one of a kind”! (since I cannot find anything at all on the internet, other than what you see here.) If you’d like to share more about my little Prudence, just send a note to [email protected]
