17th Century Stable Cottage Vacation in England

This post contains affiliate links.

This is a 17th Century Stable Cottage that’s been totally renovated into a lovely vacation home in Sussex, England.

I love seeing one-floor plans with a big, open main living area. I think for folks who hate stairs, this kind of floor plan is perfect! The bedroom and bathroom sit off the main room that overlooks stunning pasture dotted with sheep.

The exposed old wooden beams are beautiful.

Spacious kitchen and large French doors to the back porch.

I really love this style of cabinetry!

Perfect spot to sit for breakfast or tea-time.

Clean, white and bright!

Love the quaint cottage-y furniture.

Tile bathroom — love the shutters off the window!

Now that’s a view! Beautiful English farmland.

LOL, sorry-it looks like a 21st century reproduction of what maybe a 17th century cottage might have looked like:):)

I think the structure was from the 17th century and then yes, thankfully, they renovated/converted it into something 21st century folks would enjoy 🙂

What a great job of recycling a home. When it is done right, I hope under the surface is as good as the skin, these efforts are a win-win.

I don’t think so, Bob. But you could email the people who rent it out and see if they might?

Very pretty. A bit dark on the outside for me I would have chosen a lighter grey that had a bit of tan hue so it would bring out the lovely roof. The microwave would fit perfectly in that notch out with the exhaust fan if there was a shelf installed there it would fit in so nicely and I think would look nice and be functional above the stove. You did a lovely job and maybe I should not make suggestions but I am always happy when someone tells me something I had not thought of on my own. Good luck.
