While I very much appreciate the beauty of this house (and I mean that sincerely), this site is rapidly degenerating from a place to share ideas on building tiny houses to a big classified ad for selling and renting places.

Well then George if that’s your opinion, instead of complaining on every post, submit some content of your own. What ideas can you share on building tiny houses with all of us?

I am not trying to be a naysayer or spoilsport. The house here is truly lovely, as I said; and this is my favorite website. I will submit something once I am finished with the place (in Thailand), which should be in August. I am building one with a glass floor in the living room. That said, I have noticed a change of complexion in the last several months. If the purpose is to make the website valuable financially, then as a former (retired) businessman, I get that, and I applaud the effort. But I liked knowing what people did wrong, what they would do differently next time and, especially, see pics of construction – none of which occur with houses for sale or rent. If people want to buy a small home, then all they must do is get into Zillow or Realtor.com and put in a small number as the max of square footage. I am afraid that people who want to show the process and the love of their product will hesitate to upload their pics and explanations of their houses if the website is just a Zillow-in-miniature.

Hi George! Thanks for voicing your concerns. Our main goal at Tiny House Talk is to provide people with inspiration and help on their tiny journey. We get emails every day from people wanting to purchase tiny homes, and then emails from people saying tiny homes on wheels are too small and they want bigger homes, and then folks saying that the homes are too big and they only want to see THOWs 🙂 We try to give a little bit to everyone. Even if you can’t buy this particular house, hopefully you might be inspired by an element or two and put it into your future design. If someone submits their building plans or their personal tiny house, we LOVE posting those stories too! In fact, I have an interview with a tiny house “dweller” to post this week. So there is a method to our madness here, and Zillow/Rentals can be a great way to find inspiration or for some of our readers who are ready to purchase, to find their new home. Plus, we actually post all these listings free of charge, so it’s not even a financial incentive for us to do so 🙂
